Man turns McDonald's Fool's Day joke into a reality by devouring a McPickle burger much to the embarrassment of his wife and daughter

WHEN McDonald's teased customers with the McPickle burger prank, surely they wouldn't have expected anyone to actually order it.

On April Fool's day, the fast food franchise had pretended to release its latest creation only to later announce it was a stunt.

But one man decided to test their resolve to see if they had enough pickles in store to fill his own customised burger.

Matt Little, from Tasmania, asked the employee to cut back on the beef patties and instead go veggie much to his wife's embarrassment.

Speaking to Australian publication News, he said: "I went up to the counter trying to explain to the poor girl what I wanted, and she looked at me horrified.

“When she brought it over after we sat down, she looked at me and said, ‘That’s too many pickles’.

“It’s pretty much just a Big Mac without the meat, so two layers of pickles with tomato sauce.

“She (his wife) thought it was a silly idea, so I had to put it on a separate order.

“My wife and my six-year-old daughter were just staring at me, confused. They didn’t say anything."

Matt forked out around £2.20 for his customised burger.

But when quizzed on whether the McPickle was a hit, Matt admitted that he wouldn't rush back to buy it anytime soon.

He added: "It was probably the wettest burger I’d ever eaten in my life because of all the pickle juice.

“I did finish it even, but the next morning I still had the tang of pickles.

“I won’t be rushing out to get another one. Maybe I’ll just save it for an April fool’s anniversary burger.”
