Love Island’s Priscilla Anyabu reveals £2.99 face masks that ‘work wonders’ before photoshoots

We’ve been getting plenty of sneak peeks into celebs’ beauty routines recently, but isn’t it frustrating when their most beloved products are impossible to get your hands on or are out of the price range of us mere mortals?

But we were thrilled when Priscilla Anyabu from Love Island took to Instagram recently to chat to her 123k followers about skincare. She asked what her fans’ go-to skincare brands were and shared her thoughts on the answers – and it turns out she loves a bargain.

The Love Islander revealed she’s a huge fan of Garnier face masks , which start from just £2.99 here, and she finds they’re especially good at perking up her skin before photoshoots.

“Don’t get me started on their face masks,” she says of Garnier. “It works wonders, especially the eye masks. I pop it on before a shoot and my face comes alive!”

But this isn’t the only bargain you’ll find in Priscilla’s bathroom cabinet. She also shared how she loves The Ordinary and Nip+Fab (her favourite product is the Dragon’s Blood Fix Hydration Mask, £7.50 here.

She’s also a huge fan of Boots’ Cucumber range, which starts from just £1 here. “[This] gives me life!” she says. “My skin feels refreshed and hydrated after a long day of wearing makeup! And it’s affordable!”

And she certainly knows a thing or two about skincare, as she has also taken to YouTube to share some of her DIY face mask recipes.

The 25-year-old also loves low-cost body products by the sound of it too, saying how Lush bath bombs are “amazing” and Sanctuary Spa is “one of the loves of my life”.

During this interaction on Instagram Stories, Priscilla also used this opportunity to get some new recommendations from her community. She had never tried brands such as St Ives, Neutrogena and La Roche-Posay before but was tempted to do so after hearing good things from her followers.

And she is also using her beauty expertise to give something back to one group of people working their hardest at the moment – nurses. Through an initiative she has set up called #TakeBack50, she has teamed up with several beauty and food companies and is giving away 50 pamper boxes to nurses in London.

The project goes live on Thursday so if you have someone in mind that would love to receive one of these care packages, keep your eye on her Instagram account here.

Here are some of Priscilla’s other favourite beauty brands…

Simple

“One of my go tos is Simple,” she wrote in another Instagram post. The Simple Cleansing Micellar Water, £4.95 here, is popular with anyone with sensitive skin, as it gently removes make-up without irritating.

Pixi

“I like hydration and glow. Pixi is good for that,” she explains. Glow Tonic, £18 here, is their iconic, best selling exfoliating liquid.

The Body Shop

Priscilla says how she used to love their tea tree skincare range but now mostly buys their mini hand creams. “Mango is my fave,” she reveals. It costs £5 here.

Elemis

“Elemis is a personal fave, it gives me that spa finish. I feel pampered after using it!” says Priscilla. For anyone new to using the brand and wanting a taster of a selection of their bestsellers, try this cute, colourful bag of miniatures, created by British designer Olivia Rubin (£68 here).
