Kate Middleton: The Duchess uses tricks from this parenting book to raise royal children
Kate Middleton became part of the Royal Family when she married Prince William in April 2011. The Duke and Duchess have since had three children together, Prince George, five, Princess Charlotte, four, and Prince Louis, one. Although her children are likely to be on the throne one day, Kate seems to have veered away from tradition to give the royal children as normal a life as possible. The Duchess of Cambridge could have picked these tricks up when reading what is believed to be her favourite parenting book.
Set a good example and then stand back and watch.
The Modern Mother’s Handbook author
Kate Middleton is thought to have sent a fan letter to the anonymous author of the parenting book, The Modern Mother’s Handbook: How To Raise A Happy, Healthy, Smart, Disciplined and Interesting Child, Starting From Birth, according to the Daily Mail.
It is no surprise the book became a hit and some royal fans have delved into the pages to find out what tips Kate might have picked up.
Prince George is third in line to the throne, Princess Charlotte is fourth and Prince Louis is fifth, and with these important roles it could be expected the kids lives are strictly mapped out.
However, it looks like Kate follows a different approach and encourages her children to be independent and follow their own paths.
According to the book, parents are encouraged to “get out of your children’s way” and let their children discover the world themselves and make their own mistakes.
The book said: “Set a good example and then stand back and watch.”
The royal children are not often seen in public, but when they are the Duchess seems to be relaxed and lets her children explore rather than keeping them too guarded.
Although Kate is usually one to stick to royal protocol, she seems to have ditched this a few times to give her children a more normal life.
Traditionally, all members of the Royal Family will have Christmas dinner with the Queen.
However, it has been reported Kate and William take the kids to have Christmas dinner with Kate’s parents instead.
With a new royal baby now in the family, Kate might share some of these tips with her sister-in-law, Meghan Markle, 37.
Meghan and her husband, Prince Harry, 34, have recently welcomed their first child into the world and are also believed to want to give their son a normal life.
The Duke and Duchess recently revealed their son has been named Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor.
The name choice of “Harrison” could be a nod to Prince Harry, as it literally means “Harry’s son”.
Prince George may have given hints about the name months ago, as he told a dog walker his name was “Archie”.
