Kanye West delays ‘Jesus Is King’ again and fans are mad as hell
Kanye West dropped the ball — but not the album.
Fans were sorely disappointed Friday when, despite his promises, West once again delayed the release of his much-anticipated album “Jesus Is King.” His website exclusively features a photo of the track list with the release date, Sept. 27, but the unreliable superstar has yet to offer any explanation or new date.
“Jesus Is King” was originally slated for release in September 2018 as “Yandhi,” but was pushed back by more than a year.
“I stayed up all night waiting for Kanye to drop ‘Jesus Is King’ album and I’m still waiting … WTF!!” tweeted one frustrated fan early Friday.
Many felt clown-like in their disappointment.
“How I look refreshing Spotify to see if Kanye dropped Jesus Is King,” wrote another alongside a photo of a crying clown.
Insiders began raising red flags earlier in the week that the album wouldn’t be released on time.
“It’s Kanye so who knows but I’m hearing from many industry people that ‘Jesus Is King’ is not coming on Friday, despite people on the ground in Wyoming trying to make it happen,” tweeted New York Times music reporter Joe Coscarelli on Wednesday.
The same day, the rapper’s wife, Kim Kardashian, gave fans renewed hope when she retweeted a post saying “2 more days Jesus is King.”
The majority of song names, which Kardashian first shared via Instagram in August, have obvious religion themes, and include “Sweet Jesus,” “God Is,” “Baptized” and “Water.”

At least fans have already gotten a refreshing taste of one song: West played “Water” at Coachella.
Besides not releasing new music, West has recently bought a ranch in Wyoming, announced he plans on taking his Sunday Service performances nationwide and released more designs for his futuristic Crocs.
