Benedict is actually married to Sophie Hunter and has been since 2015. They married after knowing each other for six years, during which time they starred together in the film Burlesque Fairytales. It was then that they both realized there was a strong attraction, and they began their relationship, which continued to grow and get stronger as time went on.

Sophie and Benedict went to great lengths to keep their relationship as private as possible. Marrying on the most romantic day of the year, Valentine’s Day, Sophie wore a dress that was fit for a princess. Created entirely of silver lace and featuring a high neckline and long sleeves, the dress inspired brides in the years to follow. The low-key British wedding was held at an exclusive venue, with a limited guest list and elegant features.
A growing family
The wedding of Benedict Cumberbatch and Sophie Hunter was only the beginning. They welcomed their first son, Christopher Carlton, shortly after their wedding in 2015, and their second son, Hal Auden, two years later. Not only that, but the couple is currently expecting their third child, proving to fans that they are simply unstoppable, having had three children in the short span of only four years!
It wasn’t until a few months into the pregnancy that the announcement was made, just another aspect of their non-traditional approach to life in the spotlight.
