Inside Corrie’s Alexandra Mardell’s star-studded farewell party as she quits soap

After announcing she's set to leave behind her role of Emma Brooker following four years on Coronation Street, Alexandra Mardell has thrown a farewell party for herself with a star-studded guest list.

Taking to her Instagram stories on Saturday 19 February, the 28 year old posted a series of photos from her exciting night out at a Manchester bar.

The beauty dressed to impress for her night in town as she donned a bright pink dress with puffed sleeves and a matching pink belt around her waist.

She teamed the outfit with a pair of open-toed polka dot heels and a Burberry handbag with a silver chain on it. With a bold red lip and black eyeliner, Alexandra clearly intended to have a good time and it appears that's exactly what she did.

In one photo, Alexandra flashed a wide smile as she posed with her on-screen dad Simon Gregson, who plays the role of Steve McDonald, alongside her real-life boyfriend Joe Parker, who she's been with for four years.

Another snap showed the gorgeous actor posing in the middle as she wrapped her arms around Charlotte Jordan, who plays Daisy Midgeley, as well as Saira Khan, who plays Alya Nazir on the programme.

A whole host of other Corrie stars rocked up to the bar to celebrate the end of an era for Alexandra, including Millie Gibson, who portrays the role of Kelly Neelan, Colson Smith, who plays Craig Tinker, and Georgia Taylor, who stars as Toyah Battersby.

Meanwhile Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow, Mollie Gallagher, who plays Nina Lucas, Harriet Bibby, who plays Summer Spellsman and Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan, were all also there to mark the occasion.

The cast posed for several group shots as well, including one of them all huddled around a table drinking cocktails and glasses of what appears to be red wine.

Alexandra, who is set to marry her other half Joe, captioned the photos: "Face ache from smiling and hardly any photos are a sign of a fab night! Can we do it again?

"Huge hugs to everyone who came to say ta-ra for now! Had the best night with you all! Big big love," with a pink heart emoji.

Georgia immediately responded: "We [love] you Ali!! Xxx," as Colson joked: "The Yorkshire takeover fades." Meanwhile Millie gushed: "The best night," with three pink heart emojis.

Although Alexandra has finished filming her final scenes for the soap, her character will continue to appear on Coronation Street until April this year.

Speaking out about her exit from the show, she previously said: "Playing Emma, on the most iconic street there is, has been the best experience of my life. Four years have gone so fast.

"Compared to other cast members I still feel like a newbie, which makes my decision to leave all the more difficult. But I feel it’s the right time for me.

"I can’t thank everyone at Coronation Street enough for welcoming me and trusting me to tell so many wonderful and heartfelt stories. And of course for the friendships. When I see pink, I will always think of Emma."
