I worked up the courage to talk to girl on my bus — then threw up on her

DEAR DEIDRE: EVEN as I write, I am in tears – I am so ashamed of myself that I can barely set out what I did.
I am a guy of 19 and in love with a girl of my age who I see at the bus stop each day.
I gradually worked up the courage to talk to her. We made light conversation and got on so well I was thinking of asking her out.
Last week I got on the bus and sat next to this girl. I wasn’t feeling too well but I’d hoped it would pass.
Then the bus swerved and before I could help it, I threw up all over her. I don’t know what to do.
I just want to move away and be somebody else.
DEIDRE SAYS: How awful for you. I do feel for you but it wasn’t your fault.
You could send her some flowers and offer to pay for her dry-cleaning bill, maybe offer to buy her a meal as well.
It is not a great start to a potential romance but is still worth a go.
If it doesn’t work out, you will just have to accept it as life being mean. It will make a great story one day.work out, you will just have to accept it as life being mean. It will make a great story one day.
