Hidden meaning behind Meghan Markle’s choice of dress for Morocco arrival

Meghan Markle stunned the crowds as she arrived in Morocco in a red dress – but her choice has a significant meaning behind it.

The pregnant duchess chose to wear a red Maison Valentino outfit as the royal couple touched down in Casablanca last night.

The red dress holds strong connotations in the north African country.

It is the colour of the national flag to start with – but it’s a lot more than that.

For Moroccans the colour red represents hardiness, bravery, strength and valour.

Meghan also wore nude heels and gloves paired with a Valentino clutch bag worth £1,643.

The royal couple then met with 15-year-old Crown Prince, Moulay Hassan – dubbed one of the “richest teenagers in the world”.

He shook hands with the couple at the entrance to their royal villa in the grounds of King Mohammed’s palace.

It was believed to be the first official meeting between the British royal family and the future monarch of Morocco.

During their three-day trip to the north African country, Harry and Meghan are set to meet the Moroccan royal family, visit the Atlas mountains and meet with organisations which work to help young people.
