From extravagant fascinators to outlandish dresses, Ladies Day is an opportunity to stand out from the crowd in something a little different.

However, this year’s event at Aintree has seen more than five attendees parading through the Merseyside course in the same PrettyLittleThing dress – styled almost identically.

The e-tailer’s popular deep v-neck dress with white peplum and frill detail was a clear winner at the Grand National Festival, where racegoers predominantly paired it with white or nude accessories.

The plunging ruffle dress which is available in UK sizes 4-16, costs £70.

The plunging midi dress is advertised on PrettyLittleThing.com as a ‘sophisticated’ outfit for winning best dressed

In keeping with race day tradition, one woman paired the dress with a statement cream hat, which matched the ruffles on the dress, and grey platform court heels.

Another, teamed the item with a white clutch bag and matching stilettos.

PrettyLittleThing, which has  gained a reputation for taking inspiration from luxury designers for budget styles, describes the dress as ‘totally sophisticated’ online.

The brand’s model is pictured wearing the dress with beige barely-there stilettos for a simple, elegant look.

More than 150,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Grand National races which takes place over three days in Liverpool.

Ladies Day is naturally the most stylish outing of the three-day festival with glamorous female attendees pulling out all the stops for the big day.

However, those who were hoping that a unique look would win them the best-dressed accolade may have missed out by accidentally coordinating their showstopping look.
