Elon Musk proposes ‘mega rave cave’ amid Coachella cancellation rumors

No Coachella, no problem.

Tesla founder Elon Musk proposed a unique solution to the “sucking” Indio, California, music fest possibly being canceled over coronavirus: building a “mega rave cave” under his Brandenburg, Germany, Tesla facility. The announcement was made just after the hybrid car company reached the milestone of manufacturing 1 million vehicles.

“Tesla should have a mega rave cave under the Berlin Gigafatory,” the South Africa-born entrepreneur wrote in a Twitter yes-or-no poll Monday. In a subsequent tweet, Musk, 48, pledged that the hypothetical subterranean sound garden in Germany would be equipped with “an epic sound system & woofers the size of a car.”

The bizarre proposal came as Coachella event organizers face pressure to cancel the festival over COVID-19 fears.

However, Musk appears to have little sympathy for the chic shindig. “Coachella should postpone itself until it stops sucking,” snarked Musk in an earlier tweet. He added that while the event “was good maybe 5 or 6 years ago” when there were “great and unknown bands,” he now believes that “too much corporate sponsorship killed the vibe.”

The tech entrepreneur also downplayed the coronavirus scare, calling the panic “dumb” in a controversial tweet last week.
