Did this 'Full House' Episode Predict Lori Loughlin's Involvement in College Bribery Scandal?

We know Lori Loughlin as the pretty aunt to the Tanner kids on Full House, but yesterday the actress began making headlines for a whole new reason. She, along with over 40 other people, were indicted in a supposed college admissions cheating scandal.

She and her husband Mossimo Giannulli are facing charges for paying $500,000 in bribes so that their daughters would be recruits on the University of Southern California crew team.

What’s weird about the donation is that Loughlin and Giannulli’s daughters did not row crew previously which would mean that their whole admission was fake.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Massachusetts released a statement yesterday regarding the scandal.

“Dozens of individuals involved in a nationwide conspiracy that facilitated cheating on college entrance exams and the admission of students to elite universities as purported athletic recruits were arrested by federal agents in multiple states and charged in documents unsealed on March 12, 2019, in federal court in Boston,” the release stated.

Loughlin was caught when federal agents found emails from her that proved that she was involved in the scandal. Because of this, she and her husband have been charged with conspiracy to commit mail fraud and honest services mail fraud.

While it may be shocking to see Aunt Becky facing such charges, this may have all been predicted in a 1993 episode of Full House.

The “Be True to Your Preschool” episode aired in season 6 of the show. In the episode, Aunt Becky is obsessed with getting her twins Alex and Nicky into a good preschool.

Their school of choice is Bouton Hall, which was apparently very prestigious in the Full House world.

When the application asks for the children’s abilities, Becky’s husband Jesse outright lies. He writes that the children speak multiple languages, play an instrument, and that he is a diplomat.

The tie between the two stories gets even eerier as Jesse stresses the importance of the twins education and how it doesn’t matter if he and Becky break the rules to get their children a good education.

“I’m their father — if I don’t lie for them, who will?” he says on the episode.

The difference between real life and the family friendly sitcom is that at the end of the 30-minute episode, Jesse and Becky learned their lesson and came clean about lying on the application. In real life, Loughlin had to be indicted for her crimes, along with the rest of the parents.

According to TMZ, the FBI showed up at Loughlin’s house on Tuesday to take her in, but she was not home. The actress was away filming in Vancouver. She was taken into custody earlier today when she returned from Canada.

Actress Felicity Huffman, most known for her role in Desperate Housewives, is also among the names of those who have been indicted for these crimes. She is accused of paying an organization $15,000 to help her daughter cheat on her SATs, according to The Cut. Her husband, Shameless actor William H. Macy has not been charged.
