Cheltenham Festival 2019: Who is Bryony Frost? Grade 1 winning jockey wins the Ryanair with Frodon

Charismatic Bryony won the Grade 1 in tremendous style holding off all her challengers from the front.

Frost proved she is no one-season wonder as she gave Present Man a terrific ride to land the Badger Ales Chase for the second year in a row and also bagged the Caspian Caviar Gold Cup with Frodon.

Bryony Frost mainly rides for former champion trainer Paul Nicholls.

The pair have combined well for several big-race successes this season and for a Cheltenham Festival win in 2017, when Frost was still riding as an amateur jockey.

She has also ridden for her father Jimmy Frost and Neil King, along with the odd ride for several other trainers.

How old is Bryony Frost?

Bryony Frost is 23 years old. Frost started out on the pony circuit before progressing onto the point-to-point circuit.

Her first ride as a professional jockey was on Grissom, trained by her father Jimmy, at Southwell in July 2017.

What horses will Bryony Frost ride this week?

Frost won the Foxhunter Chase at the Cheltenham Festival in 2017 on Pacha Du Polder, a horse who had finished fifth in the previous renewal for former Olympic cyclist Victoria Pendleton.

This week she has plenty to look forward to, with rides aboard Brandon Castle in the Supreme and Frodon in the Ryanair.

She also takes the reins aboard Lil Rockerfeller in the Coral Cup and Oh Land Abloom in the Pertemps.
