A selfie-loving toddler, a Syrian refugee and a special guest from the States will star in the new series of Secret Life of 4 Year Olds, producers have revealed.
Channel 4’s hit documentary series returns to our screens this week with a new line-up of pint-sized stars whose every move is filmed by hidden cameras at a north London nursery before being analysed by a team of experts.
The first episode looks at how youngsters interact with technology, and the toddlers are in their element with Londoner Na’Shae confidently pouting at the lens before giving a thumbs-up to indicate her best shot, according to The Sun.
Airing on Thursday, episode one sees gadgets over the Secret Life nursery, as the olds get to grips with the classroom of the future.

Experts wanted to see how tablets, robots and other gadgets impact on the way the children play, and find out what tech is doing to the bodies and brains of the new generation of digital natives.
Gadget-obsessed Arthur gets the opportunity to meet a cutting edge robot, while Iris, Na’Shae and Keira are each given their own tablet to use as experts observed how the gadget impacted on the girls’ friendship and the way that they played together.

The episode also seeks to uncover how four-year-olds form relationships with each other and reveals a fascinating web of friendships, rivalries and romances.
Elsewhere Arthur, from North Yorkshire, is dealt a cruel blow when ‘girlfriend’ Iris dumps him for another youngster, Frankie, the Sun reports.
Later in the series the spotlight is on the five-year-olds, as the nursery throws its doors open to a very special international class of children, including a guest from the US version of Secret Life and a child who comes from a family of Syrian refugees.

As before, the team of experts are watching all the action unfold from behind the scenes thanks to 28 strategically placed cameras.
Returning to our screens are educational neuroscientist Professor Paul Howard-Jones, consultant clinical psychologist Dr. Elizabeth Kilbey and consultant child and educational psychologist Laverne Antrobus.
The panel of experts analyse and comment on the children’s behaviour and development throughout the series, alongside a newcomer, neuroscientist Dr. Hannah Critchlow.
On Wednesday, stars of the new series appeared on ITV’s This Morning where they met Holly and Phil – with four-year-old Arthur melting hearts when he ‘proposed’ to Ms Willoughby.
The new series airs on Channel 4 from 10 January at 8pm
