Busy mum no longer wears knickers as putting them on takes up ‘precious minutes’

If you’ve ever run out of clean washing you may have been forced to go commando once or twice.

But, some people find they actually prefer going knickerless.

Stella Sutcliffe, a gender equality campaigner from Hertfordshire, revealed this week that she often doesn’t bother wearing pants.

The mum-of-two claims she stopped wearing underwear when running in order to save on washing.

Stella picked up running as a hobby in lockdown to help her mental and physical health – and quickly became obsessed.

Now, she’s even completed a Marathon and plans to run further races this year. She also dropped down from 11st to 9st thanks to the exercise.

But, one of the main things she discovered was going commando.

Stella told Fabulous: “Initially, I would just wear sports clothes but as I started to get more and more proud of my body, I began wearing running clothes which were moisture wicking.

“Running tights and trousers are tight, so I tried wearing thongs because I hate visible panty lines (VPLs).

“But, going up to running four times a week, it was just extra washing to do.”

As the mum has wo young children she begrudged the extra time doing laundry and found putting on pants took up “precious minutes”.

So, in May 2020 she decided to no longer wear underwear.

Stella said: “It didn’t bother me at all – in fact it was fine. So now I never wear knickers when I run…and it’s great.

“No one can tell and even if they could, I wouldn’t care in the slightest.”

The mum thinks that other people worry too much.

She added: “I’ve already done one Marathon pantless – and I intend to do the second without knickers too!”
