Blackhorse Road tube station closed after man stabbed in broad daylight

Blackhorse Road tube station has been closed after a man was stabbed in broad daylight this afternoon.

Numerous police cars and an ambulance were seen outside the station with the road cordoned off as the victim was treated.

The station was completely closed during the incident with Victoria line tubes driving straight through.

The man has been rushed to hospital but his condition is not known.

Waltham Forest MPS said in a statement: "Officers have responded to male stabbed outside Blackhorse Road Station, E17 at 14.31hrs today.

"One male taken to hospital with stab injuries. We await a full update on their condition. No arrests. Crime scene in place. Enquiries are ongoing. No further updates at this time."

It comes after a woman was stabbed in Leyton yesterday as London’s knife crime epidemic shows no signs of slowing down.

The victim, who is in her 30s, was attacked along with two men on Capworth Street, Leyton around 3.30pm.

Police confirmed the woman was in a critical condition while both men’s wounds are not life-threatening.

A man was also left fighting for his life after he was stabbed in Forest Gate on Saturday.

Police officers and the London Ambulance Service raced to Field Road, Forest Gate at about 2.15pm to reports of a man being knifed.

The 26-year-old victim was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
