Anneka Rice young: Pictures of the TV star from the start of her career

Anneka Rice, 60, is a celebrity contestant on BBC One’s Strictly Come Dancing 2019.

The beautiful blonde, who has been partnered with last year’s champion Kevin Clifton on the show, is no stranger to the world of TV having shot to fame as a television presenter in the early 1980s.

The Welsh-born star began her broadcasting career on children’s TV in 1982, presenting a show called CBTV and then went on to star in Channel 4 programme Treasure Hunt.

The success of the BAFTA-nominated show led Anneka to create her own – and arguably her most famous programme – Challenge Anneka.

The reality game show, which saw the jumpsuit-clad star complete a task in a short period time in aid of a charitable cause or local community, launched on BBC One in 1989 and ran for five years.

Following the series, the television personality went on to present shows such as Wish You Were Here…? and Good Morning Britain but took a break from the limelight to spend time with her young children.

The mother-of-three, who shares two sons with her first husband Nick Allott, 65, and one son with TV executive Tom Gutteridge, 67, has also produced books about skiing and scuba diving and studied painting at Chelsea College of Art.

She later presented BBC’s Holiday and made guest appearances on several cookery shows including Hell’s Kitchen and Come Dine with Me.
