Wedding shamers mock lopsided cake because it looks like ‘it’s collapsing’ – but some say it’s supposed to be that way – The Sun

A NEWLYWED couple have been slammed online after wedding shamers said their lopsided cake looked like it was "collapsing".

An image of the purple, black and green cake was posted on a wedding shaming thread on Reddit and users slammed the couple and accused them of "getting what they paid for".

The cake features five different tiers, two purple and one green.

Each tier is decorated with black icing, swirls and white beading around the bottom of each layer.

It's also embellished with two flowers on each tier.

But Reddit users were horrified at how "lopsided" the cake was, with one writing: "This seems like a situation where they didn’t want to pay the going rate for a professional cake, and said: 'I have a friend who can bake for cheaper than that.'"

Others said the icing looked "lazy" while one said the collapsed style wasn't the only issue.

"Oh no! So sad for the bride and groom," they wrote.

"Looks like the baker didn’t know what they were doing. Not only is it collapsing, but if you look closely at the decorations, it is clear that the baker wasn’t very skilled."

While another harshly described it as the "leaning tower of tacky".

Others were more sympathetic, however, with some suggesting it's supposed to look this way.

"I think it's supposed to be a so called 'wonky cake' (look it up on Google).

"It's a genre of cartoony looking cakes, but they need to be done right in order for them to look good."

The cake was also shared on Facebook where users agreed it could have been a "topsy turvy cake".

While another said: "Does it have to be 'perfect' to be a great wedding, full of LOVE, which is what it is supposed to represent?"

Some suggested the couple might not have had a large budget for their wedding, explaining "as long as they're happy with it, it's fine."
