'To come back again and win is unbelievable' – Environmental Health officer crowned overall best dressed lady at Punchestown
Second time was the charm for Kate Nally McCormack – a finalist from last year – as she has been crowned the overall Bollinger Best Dressed Lady at this year’s Punchestown festival.
The stylish mum-of-three and environmental health officer had secured a place in the grand final of the competition on Wednesday with her elegant red and cream ensemble.
She arrived on the course today wearing the same Self Portrait dress but with a new hat from Suzanne Ryan Millinery – which was whipped up by 2.30am on Thursday morning by the dedicated Dublin milliner after Kate landed the final spot.
Switching up her look must have worked in the 36-year-old from Longford’s favour as she remained a firm favourite with the judges and scooped the prize.
She will jet off to Paris as part of her reward and attend an invite-only screening of the new James Bond film.
“The style today has been on another level,” said Kate.
“I’m just delighted to be bringing the Bollinger back to Co Longford.”
She said she would be celebrating the win with a glass of bubbly this evening.
“To come back again and win is unbelievable,” she added.
While most people who won their heats during the week opted to change their outfit, Kate decided to wear her winning dress again.
“I thought if it was good enough to win on Wednesday I might be lucky enough on Friday.- and I was.”
