Yashreeka Huq and Elika Cokely

The couple initially met at an impromptu L.G.B.T.Q. Pride party that Ms. Huq gave in 2015. A mutual friend sent Ms. Huq an email chain also inviting people Ms. Huq didn’t know, and Ms. Huq, curious about who might also show up at her apartment, looked up all the people who were copied in the email.

“So I could know how cute I needed to look for my own party,” she said.

When she found Ms. Cokely, she said, “I remember my stomach dropping.” she said. At the time, she was single and enjoying it, but she thought: “Oh no! This is trouble.”

The night of the party, Ms. Huq said, “I do remember offering Elika a beer at least 5,000 times, because it’s the only thing I would allow myself to say to her.”

A few months later, they met again at a card party, and Ms. Cokely at that point knew that Ms. Huq was interested. “That’s when I found out she had a crush on me, and being who I am, I just flirted with her all night,” Ms. Cokely said.

“She is the most caring, considerate, open-minded human being I have ever met and she is, for lack of better words, ride or die,” Ms. Cokely added. “She’s by your side no matter what.”

Ms. Huq, still trying to hold onto being single, said, “It felt like magnets being pulled together, and I was just trying to run away because I didn’t think being with someone was right for me.”

Even so, the night of the card party, Ms. Huq brought along a secret weapon: a caramel apple pie. “I needed to get her a very good piece of pie,” Ms. Huq said. “She just needs to know this one thing. I was like, you know, it’s like a security deposit.”

And, soon enough, her investment paid off.

Maggie Quinlan and Jacob Williams

The couple met on Tinder in September 2014. At the time of their meeting, Mr. Williams was studying for a law degree at St. John’s, and Ms. Quinlan was already working at JPMorgan and living in Hoboken, N.J.

“He was very handsome and extremely quick-witted,” Ms. Quinlan said. “And an Australian accent never hurt anyone.”

Three weeks later, they went on a first date, to a Mexican restaurant in New York.

“I’m the type of person who talks a lot and Jacob is very low key,” Ms. Quinlan said. “So there we were on our first date, and I was just going on and on and Jacob couldn’t get a word in edgewise, but when he finally did, he asked about me.”

They soon dated steadily, and Mr. Williams began to realize “two things about Maggie,” as he put it. “She had a very vivacious and effervescent personality,” he said. “She was always smiling and always very generous.”

The following month, Mr. Williams joined Ms. Quinlan for a Thanksgiving dinner at her family’s home in Montclair, N.J. “We don’t have Thanksgiving in Australia, so all of this business about turkey and getting together with family felt pretty much like Christmas all over again,” Mr. Williams said.

In January 2015, the couple embarked on a long-distance relationship that “made it feel, geographically, like the whole world was between us,” Ms. Quinlan said.

Mr. Williams spent the first five months of 2015 in the Cayman Islands on an internship as part of his master’s program at St. John’s. Ms. Quinlan visited him once while he was there, and he returned the favor. In July 2015, Mr. Williams got his job at Sportradar US, but began working in its Munich offices. He was there for 14 months, during which time he and Ms. Quinlan visited each other twice, and also squeezed in a trip to Melbourne, where Ms. Quinlan met Mr. Williams’s family.

“They just loved her,” he said.

Sara Collins, Christopher Jenkins

Dr. Sara DeReath Collins and Christopher Lanier Jenkins were married June 8 at the InterContinental Washington D.C. — the Wharf. William Harris, a Universal Life minister, officiated.

Dr. Collins, 43, is an interventional cardiologist for Capital Cardiology Consultants in Washington. She graduated from Brown and received a medical degree from Meharry Medical College in Nashville.

She is a daughter of Paula R. Collins and Charles M. Collins of San Francisco. The bride’s father is the president and chief executive of the Y.M.C.A. of San Francisco. Her mother is a real estate developer for WDG Ventures, a development and consulting firm based in San Francisco.

Mr. Jenkins, 48, is a politics editor in Washington at The Washington Post. He is currently on sabbatical. He graduated from Oberlin College in Oberlin, Ohio, and received a master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.

He is the son of Adelbert H. Jenkins of Oberlin and the late Betty L. Jenkins. His father, who is retired, was a professor of psychology at N.Y.U. The groom’s mother was a librarian for the City University of New York.

The couple met in July 2017 on a blind date.

Jenna Gilligan, Michael Spencer

Jenna Marie Gilligan and Michael Broderick Spencer were married June 8 at the Lyman Estate in Waltham, Mass. Justin Broderick, an uncle of the groom who received permission from Massachusetts to solemnize the marriage, officiated.

The bride, 30, is a director at Version 2.0 Communications, a public relations firm in Boston. She graduated magna cum laude from the University of Scranton and received a master’s degree in publishing and writing from Emerson College.

She is the daughter of Lesley Lontos and Richard J Gilligan, Jr., of Forest Hills, Queens. The bride’s father is a business agent for UA Local Union No. 1, the Plumbers of New York City. Her mother, who works in Manhattan, is a vice president of Sompo International, a Japanese insurance company.

The groom, 34, is an English teacher at Chapel Hill-Chauncy Hall School, a private high school in Waltham, Mass. He graduated from Vassar College and received a master’s degree in secondary education from the University of New Haven.

He is the son of Mary Broderick of East Lyme, Conn., and Rob Spencer of Mystic, Conn. The groom’s mother is a consultant for CABE Search Services, a search firm for school executives in Wethersfield, Conn. She is also the former president of the National School Boards Association. His father retired as a director at Pfizer in Groton, Conn.

The groom is the grandson of the late Vincent L. Broderick, who served as New York City police commissioner from June 1965 to February 1966. (The bride’s maternal grandfather, the late Andrew L. Lontos, was a sergeant with the department and was assigned to the Queens Task Force.)

The couple met through the dating website OkCupid in November 2014.

Julie Tiedrich, Steven Counts

Julie Nicole Tiedrich and Steven Michael Counts were married June 8 at the Avenue A Club, an events space in Newark. Jonathan Mannion, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.

In August, the bride, 29, will become a consultant at McKinsey & Company in Detroit. She graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University and received an M.B.A. with distinction from the University of Michigan.

She is a daughter of Deborah W. Tiedrich and Dr. Allan D. Tiedrich of Westfield, N.J. The bride’s father is a physiatrist and medicinal marijuana doctor in private practice in Plainfield, N.J., where the bride’s mother works as the business manager. The bride’s mother also works as a grief counselor for teenagers coping with loss at Imagine, an organization that seeks to ensure adequate medical care for mothers and children living in poor nations.

The groom 37, is a freelance sports advertising photographer whose subjects have included LeBron James, Serena Williams, Neymar and Alex Ovechkin. He received a media and communication arts associate degree from Macomb Community College in Warren, Mich.

He is the son of Karen E. Counts and Larry M. Counts of Homosassa, Fla. The groom’s father retired as a laminating technician at Chrysler in Detroit. His mother is a freelance health insurer in Homosassa.

The couple met in 2015 in New York.

Rachel Mack, Joshua Kolsky

Rachel Alexandra Mack and Joshua Michael Kolsky were married June 8 at Battello, a restaurant and events space in Jersey City. Cantor Cathy Lawrence officiated.

Mrs. Kolsky, 31, is a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology at George Washington University, from which she received a master’s degree in the same field. In July, she is to begin a predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She graduated from Cornell.

She is a daughter of Robyn M. Mack and Scott E. Mack of Westfield, N.J. The bride’s father is a senior vice president and financial adviser in the Florham Park, N.J., office of Stifel Nicolaus & Company, a wealth management and investment banking company. Her mother is a learning-disabilities teacher consultant on a child-study team in the public schools of Elizabeth N.J.

Mr. Kolsky, 40, is a trial lawyer in the federal programs branch of the Justice Department’s civil division, in Washington. He graduated from the University of Virginia and received a law degree from Columbia.

He is a son of Karin L. Kolsky and Kenneth B. Kolsky of Rockville, Md. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent and then was a medical writer at the National Institute on Aging in Bethesda, Md. His father retired as the senior vice president for international operations at ICF International, a consultancy and technology services company in Fairfax, Va.

The couple met in 2016 on Tinder, and had their first date in Washington.

Laura Kelley, Maliva Mahiga

Laura Elizabeth Kelley and Maliva Julius Mahiga were married June 8 at St. Peter’s Parish in Kansas City, Mo. The Rev. Matthew Rotert, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.

The bride, 33, is a Blavatnik Fellow at Harvard, where she is commercializing technology for diagnosis of cancer. She graduated from Rice University, and received a master’s degree in public health from Columbia. She also received an M.B.A. from Harvard.

She is a daughter of Kathleen G. Kelley and John M. Kelley III of Leawood, Kan. The bride’s father is a senior estimator at the Massman Construction Company in Overland Park, Kan. Her mother is the president emeritus of the American Institute of Graphic Arts in Kansas City, Mo.

The groom, 34, works in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, as a project manager at Upepo Energy, a renewable energy developer in sub-Saharan Africa. He graduated from the University of Bristol in Bristol, England, and received a master of laws from Georgetown.

He is a son of Elizabeth J. Mahiga and Dr. Augustine P. Mahiga of Dar es Salaam. The groom’s mother is the founder and chief executive of One Planet Schools, a group of primary schools in Tanzania. His father is the minister for constitutional and legal affairs for the United Republic of Tanzania.

The couple began dating in Dar es Salaam, where they were introduced by mutual friends.

Jonaki Singh, Kartik Madiraju

Jonaki Mala Singh and Kartik Sameer Madiraju were married June 5 at State Supreme Court in Jamaica, Queens. Justice Lee A. Mayersohn, for whom the bride was an legal-research intern in 2013, officiated. On June 8, the couple had a Hindu ceremony at Terrace on the Park in Flushing, Queens, led by Pandit Nirmal Bhattacharyya.

The couple met at N.Y.U. School of Law, from which each received a law degree.

Ms. Singh, 27, is a litigation associate at Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel, a Manhattan law firm. She graduated magna cum laude from St. John’s University in Jamaica. Ms. Singh is an executive committee member and former secretary of Street Children International, an organization in Great Neck, N.Y., that supports education and nutrition programs for disadvantaged children worldwide.

She is the daughter of Meghmala Tarafdar and Sanjiv Singh of Bellerose, Queens. The bride’s father is a principal systems engineer for big data in the Plano, Tex., office of the Foundry, which is a research and development division of AT&T. Her mother is an assistant professor of English at Queensborough Community College in Bayside, Queens.

Mr. Madiraju, 29, is a litigation associate in the Manhattan office of Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, a San Francisco law firm. He graduated and received a master’s degree in bioresource engineering from McGill University in Montreal.

He is the son of Padma Madiraju and S. R. Murthy Madiraju of Brossard, Ontario. The groom’s mother works for the surgery department at McGill as the administrator for the Skin Research Group of Canada. His father, a biochemist, is a senior scientist and conducts Type 2 diabetes research at the Montreal Diabetes Research Center at the University of Montreal.

Celestine Crews, Michael Williams

Celestine Crews and Michael Allyn Williams were married June 7 at Garde East, an events space in Tisbury, Mass. Steven A. Lopes officiated, with his wife, Valerie J. Lopes, taking part; both are Salvation Army ministers.

The bride, 52, is an information technology supervisor for Apple who works remotely from her home in West Orange, N.J. She is also an actress who appeared films like “Footsteps in the Rough,” “Deadline” and “Vacant” a short science fiction film that is to be released this month on the USA Network. The bride also served active duty in the Marines from 1995 to 1999, and was last stationed in Okinawa, Japan, having achieved the rank of corporal. She later served with the Marine Corps Reserves from 1999 to 2003 before spending the next two years as a member of the National Guard at the Westfield National Guard Armory in Westfield, N.J. She graduated from Rutgers.

She is the daughter of Marion Loretta Crews of East Orange, N.J., and the late John Earl Crews. The bride’s mother retired as a teacher for the Arc, a school for mentally challenged students in Irvington, N.J. The bride’s father was an electrical project manager at the Passaic Valley Commission in Newark. He was also a deacon at the Mount Zion Baptist Church there.

The groom, 60, is an independent senior software quality assurance engineer based in Plymouth, Mass. He graduated from Northeastern.

He is the son of the late Martha Mary Williams and the late Walter Edward Williams, who lived in Boston. The groom’s mother was a Boston-based nuclear dosimetry reader at nuclear power plants across the country. His father was a computer operator with the Sheraton Corporation of America in Boston.

The groom’s first marriage ended in divorce.

The couple met at a birthday party in October 2017 in Oak Bluffs, Mass., on Martha’s Vineyard.

Emily Bona-Cohen, Dylan Harmon-Donovan

Emily Sabina Bona-Cohen and Dylan Justice Harmon-Donovan were married June 8 at RGNY, a winery in Riverhead, N.Y. Julie T. Riederer, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the occasion, officiated.

Ms. Bona-Cohen, 36, is a product insights lead at HBO in Manhattan, where she conducts research studies focusing on digital user experience. She graduated from Washington University in St. Louis, and received a master’s degree in media research from Hunter.

She is a daughter of Dr. Amy A. Bona and Neil B. Cohen of Brooklyn. The bride’s father is the Jeffrey D. Forchelli Professor of Law at Brooklyn Law School. He teaches contract and commercial law. Her mother, who was a stay-at-home parent, until the late 1990s was a dentist at the Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn.

Mr. Harmon-Donovan, 32, is an immigration specialist in human resources at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan, where he helps employees obtain work visas. He graduated from St. Edward’s University in Austin, Tex., and received a master’s degree in international studies from Texas State University, San Marcos.

He is the son of Rachel L. Harmon and Timothy P. Donovan, both of Austin. The groom’s mother retired as a wellness and events coordinator for the elderly at Meals on Wheels in Austin. His father is a tile artisan, who works on residences and public spaces in Austin.

In June 2017, the couple met at Ginny’s Little Longhorn Saloon. Ms. Harmon-Donovan was visiting friends in Austin with Ms. Riederer. Mr. Bona-Cohen, who lived there, walked over to Ms. Harmon-Donovan while she was checking out the chicken coop. The chickens serve as the callers (loosely speaking) for a Sunday afternoon bingo tradition at the saloon.

Katherine Schlosser, Ogheneochuko Metitiri

Dr. Katherine Rose Schlosser and Dr. Ogheneochuko Silas Ejiro Metitiri were married June 8 in New York. The Rev. C. Alfred Loua, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony at St. Paul’s Chapel, which is part of the Trinity Church Wall Street parish.

Dr. Schlosser Metitiri, 34, is a staff pediatric critical-care doctor at Columbia University’s Irving Medical Center. She is also a pediatrics instructor there. She graduated from Stanford and received a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland.

She is the daughter of Susan R. Schlosser and R. Joseph Schlosser of Chappaqua, N.Y. The bride’s father retired as a partner in PricewaterhouseCoopers, the New York accounting firm. Her mother, who is retired, was a nutritionist for the Head Start program in Westchester County in Elmsford, N.Y., and then became a member of the adjunct faculty at N.Y.U. Steinhardt’s department of nutrition and food studies.

Dr. Metitiri, 35, is an orthopedic hand surgeon. He is a fellow in the Fishkill, N.Y., and Poughkeepsie, N.Y., offices of CareMount Medical, a group medical practice. He also graduated from Stanford and he received a medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College.

He is the son of Agnes O. Metitiri and Nelson A. Metitiri of Plainfield, Ill. His mother is a registered nurse in the general-medicine ward at Amita Health St. Joseph Hospital in Chicago. His father is a pharmacist at a Walgreen’s store in Chicago.

The bride and groom met in 2012 in Boston through a mutual Stanford friend. Both were then in the intern year of their medical residencies.

Caitlin Tormey, Michael Mongiardini

Caitlin O’Donnell Tormey and Michael Gene Mongiardini were married June 8 at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Sleepy Hollow N.Y. The Rev. Dany Abi-Akar, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony.

Mrs. Mongiardini, 35, is the chief commercial officer for Naadam, a sustainable cashmere company in New York that produces luxury knitwear. She also owns East Bower Consulting, a company that provides strategic advisory and solutions for those in the art and retail sectors. The bride was previously a professional marathon runner. She graduated from Princeton and received two M.B.A.s, one from Columbia and one from London Business School.

She is a daughter of Jill O’Donnell Tormey and Thomas A. Tormey Jr. of Grymes Hill, Staten Island. The bride’s father is the former assistant district attorney and bureau chief of the Manhattan Special Investigations Bureau under Robert M. Morgenthau. He is currently a lawyer in private practice in Manhattan. He also serves on the board of the Staten Island Museum. The bride’s mother is the chief executive and director of scientific affairs at the Cancer Research Institute in Manhattan. She is also a trustee of the City University of New York.

Mr. Mongiardini, 34, is a research analyst in the New York office of Point72 Asset Management, a global asset management firm based in Stamford, Conn. From 2008 to 2013, he served in the Army Special Forces as a Green Beret, achieving the rank of staff sergeant. During that time, he learned to speak fluent Mandarin and spearheaded intelligence collection for two politically unstable South Asian countries and assured the combat readiness of 120 Filipino Special Forces soldiers preparing for combat as part of Operation Enduring Freedom-Philippines. The groom was formerly a professional baseball player and relief pitcher for the Kalamazoo Kings in the Eastern Division of the Frontier League. He graduated from Yale and received an M.B.A. from Columbia.

He is a son of Harold G. Mongiardini of Toms River, N.J., and the late Patricia J. Mongiardini. The groom’s father is an HVAC mechanic at the Community Medical Center in Toms River. His mother was an office manager at the Manchester Township Police Department in New Jersey.

The couple met on Tinder in November 2014.

Elizabeth King, Allen Shih

Elizabeth King and Dr. Allen Franklin Shih were married June 8 at the Morristown Church-on-the-Green in Morristown, N.J. The Rev. Dr. Brandon Cho, a United Methodist minister, performed the ceremony.

The couple, both 27, met at Yale, from which the bride received a law degree and the groom received an M.B.A. and a medical degree.

Ms. King is a lawyer for Davis Polk & Wardwell, a law firm in New York. She graduated cum laude from Dartmouth.

She is the daughter of Mei-Tsu Shieh and K. Clarence King of Austin, Tex. The bride’s father is the president of the TECO-Westinghouse Motor Company, a motor manufacturer based in Round Rock, Tex. The bride’s mother, who is retired, was a virology researcher at the University of Cincinnati.

Dr. Shih is a medical resident at the Overlook Medical Center in Summit, N.J. In July, he is to begin a combined residency and faculty program in dermatology at Boston University. He graduated summa cum laude from Harvard, from which he also received a master’s degree in chemistry.

He is the son of Dr. Anling Huang and Frank Y. Shih of Morris Plains, N.J. The groom’s mother, who is retired, was a dentist with a private practice in Newark. His father is a professor of computer science and the director of the computer vision laboratory at the New Jersey Institute of Technology in Newark.

Kevin Johnson, Zachary Clark

Kevin Michael Johnson and Zachary Stewart Clark were married June 8 at Mount Hope Farm in Bristol, R.I. Erik Dawe, a friend of the couple and a Universal Life minister, officiated.

Mr. Johnson (left), 37, is an architect and a partner in the Washington office of SmithGroup, a design firm. He graduated cum laude from Ball State University in Muncie, Ind., with bachelor’s degrees in architecture and in environmental design.

He is a son of Laurie M. Johnson and Dr. Peter L. Johnson of Indianapolis. Mr. Johnson’s mother retired as a secretary at Allisonville Elementary School in Indianapolis, which the groom attended. His father is a veterinarian who practices in Indianapolis.

Mr. Clark, 34, is the executive director of 826DC, the Washington chapter of a national network of youth-writing centers. He graduated magna cum laude from Brown and received a master’s degree in education from Harvard.

He is the son of Sandra L. Clark of Coventry, R.I., and Michael C. Clark of West Warwick, R.I. Mr. Clark’s mother is the legal assistant in the Providence, R.I., branch of the Federal Public Defender, which serves indigent criminal defendants. His father is a facilities custodian for the public schools of Coventry.

The couple met in 2014 through the dating app Tinder, and had their first date in Washington.

Isabel Barber, Scott Tinkham

Isabel Forbes Barber and Andrew Scott Tinkham were married June 8 at the Jekyll Island Club in Jekyll Island, Ga. The Rev. Ashton K. Williston, an Episcopal priest, officiated.

Mrs. Tinkham, 40, is the director for program management at Texas Central, a company in Dallas that is developing a high-speed passenger-rail system to connect North Texas to Houston. She graduated summa cum laude from Wellesley College.

She is the daughter of Felicity Forbes Hoyt of South Dartmouth, Mass., and John T. Barber of New York. The bride’s father is a commercial real estate consultant in New York. Her mother is a volunteer mentor and reading tutor at Carlos Pacheco Elementary School and at Our Sisters’ School, both in New Bedford, Mass.

The bride is also the stepdaughter of Austin Hoyt and of Niels H. Blok.

Mr. Tinkham, 44, is known as Scott. He is the general counsel at Agricen, an agricultural technology company in Plano, Tex. He graduated from Duke and received a law degree from the University of Texas.

He is the son of Sandra CorSette Tinkham and Peter B. Tinkham of Allen, Tex. The groom’s mother retired as an associate director for enrollment services at Southern Methodist University in University Park, Tex. His father retired as the executive vice president for corporate secretary, tax and other administrative matters at TXU Energy, an electric utility in Dallas.

The couple met in summer 2016 at Stephen Talkhouse, a live-music space and bar in Amagansett, N.Y., when a mutual friend introduced them.

Mary Frances Flournoy, Cliff Lungaretti

Mary Frances Flournoy and Cliff Lungaretti were married June 8 at Gargiulo’s Restaurant in Coney Island, Brooklyn. Robert C. Kelly, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the occasion, officiated.

Mrs. Lungaretti, 34, works at Tiffany & Company in Manhattan, where she trains the global creative visual merchandising team on the company’s display standards. She graduated from Boston University and received a master’s degree with distinction in contemporary art from Sotheby’s Institute of Art in Manhattan.

She is the daughter of Sandra Milford McGee of Marietta, Ga., and C. Carson Flournoy of Macon Ga., and the stepdaughter of A. Wayne McGee. The bride’s father retired as a salesman at the New York Life Insurance Company in Macon. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent, then worked in various sales positions at pharmaceutical companies until the mid-2000s.

Mr. Lungaretti is a producer in the creative lab at Google NYC in Manhattan. He graduated from Fordham.

The groom, 33, is the son of Dianne Zieminski of Bay Terrace, Staten Island. He was also raised by his maternal grandparents, Nancy Lungaretti and Jerry Lungaretti, and is the stepson of Steven Zieminski Sr. The groom’s mother is a first vice president at Valley Bank in Brooklyn. She is the division head responsible for 18 branches in Brooklyn and Queens.

The couple met in 2015 after their mutual friend, MaryAnn Spencer, persisted in setting them up. Their first date was at a Bowery bar in Manhattan.

Tegan Argo, Benjamin Litwak

Tegan Marie Argo and Benjamin Dylan Litwak were married June 8 at the St. Julien Hotel and Spa in Boulder, Colo. The Rev. Keith Lewis, a Disciples of Christ minister, officiated.

The couple met at the University of Colorado, from which both graduated.

The bride, 28, is a hardware-test engineer in Mountain View, Calif., at Waymo, Google’s self-driving car company.

She is the daughter of Elaine D. Argo of Nokomis, Fla., and the late Paul E. Argo. The bride’s mother was a stay-at-home-parent as well as a gymnastics coach and competition judge in Los Alamos, N.M. The bride’s father was an atmospheric physicist at the National Nuclear Security Administration in Washington.

The bride’s grandparents, Mary Argo and Dr. Harold Argo, both worked on the Manhattan Project in the theoretical division under Edward Teller, at the Los Alamos National Laboratory.

Mr. Litwak, 27, is an associate for institutional corporate bond sales in the San Francisco office of Goldman Sachs, the investment bank.

He is the son of Robina K. E. Ramsay and Nathaniel J. Litwak of Chappaqua, N.Y. The groom’s mother sells midcentury modern furniture on Etsy, the e-commerce website. The couple met at the Parsons School of Design, from which each graduated.

Ms. Yu, 30, is an account executive in the Toronto office of the Publicis Groupe, the advertising and public relations company.

She is the daughter of Mei-Yu Hsieh of Singapore and the late Ying-Tzung Yu. Her parents owned the Dynasty Group, a real estate sales company in Taichung, Taiwan, and Wang Xiang, a sports equipment company in Dongguan, China.

Mr. Egnal, 31, is an art director in the Toronto office of Leo Burnett Worldwide, a Chicago advertising agency that is a unit of the Publicis Groupe.

He is a son of Judith Humphrey and Marc Egnal of Toronto. The groom’s mother is the founder of the Equos Corporation, a Toronto company that provides interpersonal-skills training. She is also a columnist for Fast Company and the author of “Speaking as A Leader” (Jossey-Bass, 2012). His father retired as a professor of American history at York University in Toronto, and is the author of “Clash of Extremes: The Economic Origins of the Civil War” (Hill & Wang, 2010).

Allyssa Peterson, Stuart Wetanson

Allyssa Haley Peterson and Stuart Joseph Wetanson were married June 8 at Lowndes Grove, a plantation house in Charleston, S.C. The Rev. Kristen Barner, a United Church of Christ minister, officiated.

Mrs. Wetanson, 29, is a freelance event planner in New York. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley.

She is a daughter of Anne A. Peterson and David A. Peterson of Amelia Island, Fla. The bride’s father is a construction executive for Bechtel, an engineering, procurement, construction, and project management firm based in Reston, Va. He is currently involved with the management of the construction of a new metro system for the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Her mother was a stay-at-home parent.

Mr. Wetanson, also 29, is a New York-based restaurateur who is an owner of 14 restaurants, along with his father, Greg Wetanson, and his grandfather, Herb Wetanson, including Dallas BBQ, Tony’s di Napoli and Patrick’s Restaurant and Oyster Bar. He graduated with a degree in hotel administration from Cornell.

He is the son of Maxine O. Wetanson and Mr. Wetanson of Lloyd Harbor, N.Y. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent.

The couple met through mutual friends at a bar in New York in March 2015.

Caitlyn Boller, Adam Bastein

Caitlyn Marie Boller and Adam Wallace Bastein were married June 8 at Waimea Plantation Cottages on Kauai in Hawaii. Frank H. Boller, the bride’s father who became a Universal Life minister for the occasion, led the ceremony.

Mrs. Bastein, 31, is a business development manager at Living Goods in San Francisco, a nonprofit social organization focusing on community-based health care in East Africa. She graduated with highest distinction with a degree in political science and Spanish from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

She is the daughter of Maryann M. Boller and Mr. Boller of Cary, N.C. The bride’s father, who is retired, was based in Carey as the southeast regional sales director at Essentia, an ionized alkaline water company in Bothell, Wash. Until 1983, for nearly 100 years, his family ran the Boller Beverage Company, an independent bottler of 15 of its own flavored sodas in Elizabeth, N.J. Her mother retired as a registered nurse at Croasdaile Village, a retirement community in Durham, N.C.

Mr. Bastein, 39, is a general manager at Getaround, a car-sharing platform, in San Francisco. He graduated with distinction from the University of California, Berkeley, and received an M.B.A. from M.I.T.

He is the son of Judy Bastein and Wallace H. Bastein of Berkeley. The groom’s mother retired as a science teacher at Glorietta Elementary School in Orinda, Calif. His father retired as an independent residential real estate broker in the San Francisco Bay Area.

The couple met in 2014 in Kampala, Uganda, while he volunteered, and she worked for TechnoServe, an international economic development nonprofit organization, where they were involved with the same project analyzing Northern Uganda’s agro-processing industry.

Natasha Lerner, Joseph Landry

Natasha Manske Lerner and Joseph Roger Landry were married June 8. Isaac D. Webb, a friend of the couple who received permission from Massachusetts to solemnize this marriage, officiated at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation in Waltham, Mass.

The couple met in Lexington, Va., at Washington & Lee University, from which both graduated.

Ms. Lerner, 28, is a project manager in the community health sciences department at the Boston University School of Public Health in Boston, where she is also studying for a doctoral degree in public health. She received a master’s degree in public administration from N.Y.U.

She is the daughter of Laura Manske and Dr. Chester W. Lerner of New York. The bride’s father, an infectious disease specialist, retired as the associate chief of infectious diseases at NewYork-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital. Her mother is a freelance travel writer and photographer.

Mr. Landry, 27, is a trial lawyer in the regional office, in Boston, of the federal Labor Department’s solicitor. He received a law degree from Columbia.

He is a son of Charlene M. Landry and George T. Landry of Fitchburg, Mass. The groom’s mother was a stay-at-home parent and then taught at Appleton Elementary School in New Ipswich, N.H., and was a residential counselor at Crotched Mountain School, a home in Greenfield, N.H., for children with autism and communication or behavioral difficulties. His father is a pipe fitter with United Association Local 4, a union in Worcester, Mass.

Madeline Lazaris, Eric Heinbockel

Madeline Patton Lazaris and Eric Behan Heinbockel were married June 8. John P. Racin, an uncle of the bride who became a Universal Life minister for this event, officiated at Brooklyn Botanic Garden.

The bride and groom both graduated from Columbia, but didn’t meet until 2011, when both attended an alumni event on the Intrepid in Manhattan.

Mrs. Heinbockel, 32, is an associate vice president and an account manager in the estates and appraisals department at Christie’s, the Manhattan auction house.

She is a daughter of Stephanie J. Racin and Nicholas G. Lazaris of Newton, Mass. The bride’s father retired as the president and chief executive of Keurig, the Burlington, Mass., company that developed the single-serve coffee brewing machine. Her mother retired as an estate-tax lawyer at Schlesinger & Buchbinder, a firm in Newton.

Mr. Heinbockel, 33, is a sales account executive for sportswear products, in Manhattan, for Nike, the sporting goods manufacturer.

He is a son of Ellen T. Behan-Heinbockel and Stephen C. Heinbockel of Moorestown, N.J. The groom’s mother, a nurse practitioner, is an adjunct professor at the University of Pennsylvania Nursing School in Philadelphia. His father also works for Nike, in Mount Laurel, N.J., as a business planner for sales.

Elizabeth Tubridy, Jono Peters

Dr. Elizabeth Anne Tubridy and Jonathan White Peters Jr. were married June 8 at St. Paul’s Church in Riverside, Conn. The Rev. Stephanie Johnson, an Episcopal priest, performed the ceremony.

Dr. Tubridy-Peters, 27, is a second-year obstetrics and gynecology resident at N.Y.U. Langone in Manhattan. She graduated from Georgetown and received a medical degree Albert Einstein College of Medicine in the Bronx.

She is a daughter of Erica G. Tubridy and Gary S. Tubridy of Riverside, Conn. The bride’s father is a senior vice president at the Alexander Group, a consulting firm in Vero Beach, Fla. Her mother, who is retired, was an assistant admissions director at Greenwich Country Day School in Greenwich, Conn.

Mr. Peters, who is 31 and known as Jono, is an associate in leveraged finance at Citigroup in Manhattan. From 2011 to 2015, he served as an artillery officer in the United States Marine Corps, deploying in 2013-14 to Helmand Province, Afghanistan. He graduated from Hamilton College and received an M.B.A. from the University of Virginia.

He is the son of Margaret Pierce Peters and Jonathan White Peters Sr. of Rye, N.Y. The groom’s mother is a landscape designer based in Rye. His father, who is retired, was a managing director in credit sales at Deutsche Bank in Manhattan.

The couple met in Connecticut at Riverside Yacht Club in 2006, and in November 2011, when the bride was a student at Georgetown and the groom a second lieutenant stationed at the Basic School in Quantico, Va., he reached out one night out to see if she was interested in getting together at a bar in Georgetown. She said yes and they began dating steadily a few months later.

Jennifer Bogdan, Alun Jones

Jennifer Sally Bogdan and Alun Douglas Jones were married June 7 at Incarnation-St. James Church in Ewing, N.J. The Rev. Thomas Morris, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony. On June 8, the couple took part in an outdoor ceremony at the Grounds for Sculpture in Hamilton, N.J., led by Michael Yelle, a Universal Brotherhood minister.

The bride, who is 34 and works in Providence, is the director of communications to Governor Gina M. Raimondo, Democrat of Rhode Island. The bride graduated magna cum laude from Loyola University Maryland and received a master’s degree in journalism from the University of Maryland. She was previously a state house reporter at The Providence Journal from 2014-18.

She is the daughter of Sally A. Bogdan and Joseph J. Bogdan of Ewing. The bride’s father retired as the base energy manager of McGuire Air Force Base in Burlington County, N.J. Her mother, who worked in Trenton, is a retired New Jersey Superior Court judicial clerk.

The groom, 36, is the vice president for sales at Dycem, a global manufacturer of contamination control mats and flooring. He graduated with honors from the University of the West of England.

He is the son of Patricia A. Jones and Malcom E. Jones of Somerset County, England. The groom’s father, who is retired, is a veteran of the British Army who achieved the rank of corporal before becoming an independent radio communications engineer. His mother retired as an art history teacher at Bridgwater College in Somerset County.

The couple met by chance in Providence in January 2015.

Matthew Frucci, Brooks Lancaster

Matthew James Frucci and Brooks Lancaster are to be married June 9 at the Carneros Resort and Spa in Napa, Calif. Allison Grace, a friend of the couple who became a Universal Life minister for the event, is to officiate.

Mr. Frucci (left), 41, works in New York as the executive producer of “NBC Nightly News Weekend.” He graduated from Dartmouth.

He is a son of Linda L. Frucci and Richard M. Frucci of Alton, N.H.

Mr. Lancaster, 33, works in New York as the senior manager of global public and media relations at the American Heart Association, which is based in Dallas. He graduated from the University of North Carolina Wilmington.

Arielle Feldshon, Alex Tepper

Arielle Zoe Feldshon and Alexander William Fox Tepper were married June 5 at the Manhattan Marriage Bureau. Raimundo Molina, a staff member of the New York City Clerk’s office, officiated.

On June 15, Zachary N. Trupp, a friend of the couple, is to lead a Jewish ceremony at Thea’s Inn of Ikaria, an inn on the island of Ikaria, Greece.

The couple met at N.Y.U., from which each graduated.

Ms. Feldshon, 29, is an associate at the New York office of Arnold & Porter. She received a law degree from Columbia.

She is a daughter of Dr. Archelle Georgiou and Dr. S. David Feldshon of Wayzata, Minn. The bride’s father is a gastroenterologist at MNGI Digestive Health, previously Minnesota Gastroenterology, a group practice in Minneapolis. Her mother teaches anatomy and physiology at Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. She is also the health expert with a weekly segment on 5 Eyewitness News at KSTP-TV, an ABC affiliate in Minnesota.

Mr. Tepper, 30, is a writer and a producer in the creative promotion department at Nickelodeon in New York, the cable television network focusing on children’s programming.

He is the son of Judy Fox-Tepper of Rockville, Md., and the late Gary C. Tepper. The groom’s mother retired as the director at Beth Emeth Early Childhood Center, a Jewish nursery school in Herndon, Va. His father had retired as a partner in the Washington office of Ballard Spahr, the Philadelphia-based law firm.

The couple met in 2009 at a college toga party. In April 2012, they started dating in earnest after Mr. Tepper asked Ms. Feldshon to join him for a secret show by the Hives, a Swedish garage rock revival band, at the Studio at Webster Hall in New York’s East Village.

Michele Tran, Timothy Stevens

Michele Nhung Tran and Timothy Michael Stevens were married June 8 at Pier A Harbor House, an events space in Manhattan. Dr. Khoa Tran, the bride’s brother who became a Universal Life minister for the event, officiated.

Ms. Tran, 32, is an assistant principal of special education at the James Madison High School in Brooklyn. She graduated from Amherst College and received a master’s degree in educational leadership from the Bank Street College of Education in Manhattan.

She is the daughter of Hung T. Tran and Nho T. Nguyen of Burlington, Mass.

Mr. Stevens, 35, is a director of enterprise strategy at American Express in Manhattan. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. From 2005 to 2010, he was a captain in the Army in the Third Infantry Division; he was deployed for two tours in Iraq. He received an M.B.A. from Columbia.

He is the son of the late Charlene S. Herpel of Chestertown, Md., and the late James G. Stevens of Pasadena, Md.

The bride and groom met at Columbia, from which each received a dental degree.

Dr. Greco, 29, is an orthodontist and an associate at Greco Orthodontics, a practice that is owned by her father and has offices in Ardmore, Pa., and Philadelphia. She graduated from Georgetown, and received an orthodontic certificate from the University of Pennsylvania.

She is a daughter of Katherine Koromvokis and Dr. Peter M. Greco of Bryn Mawr, Pa. The bride’s mother is a contract lawyer at the Norwood Company, a construction contractor in Malvern, Pa. The bride’s father is also a clinical professor at the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, and an associate editor of the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics.

Dr. Kotecki, 31, is a captain in the United States Army, and is stationed at Fort Benning in Georgia, where he is a practicing general dentist. He graduated from Duke. In July, he is to begin an orthodontic residency program at the Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

Dr. Kotecki is a son of Deborah J. Kotecki and John S. Kotecki of Raleigh, N.C. The groom’s mother retired as a special-education teacher at the Magellan Charter School in Raleigh, and was the president in 2016-17 of the North Carolina chapter of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, an organization that supports education for girls and women. The groom’s father is a 777 captain for American Airlines, and is based at Kennedy International Airport in Queens.

Megan Granski, Alexander Sommer

Megan Granski and Alexander David Sommer were married June 8 at the Roundhouse, an events space in Beacon, N.Y. Michael D. Levy, a friend of the couple who is a Universal Life minister, officiated, with Bobby A. Fisher, an uncle of the bride, leading the ceremony.

Ms. Granski, 27, is pursuing a doctorate in counseling psychology at N.Y.U. Her research and clinical work focus on the treatment of child and adolescent mental health and trauma. Until 2015, she was the research and advocacy coordinator for the Bellevue-N.Y.U. Survivors of Torture Program at Bellevue Hospital in New York. She graduated summa cum laude from Northwestern.

She is a daughter of Lynn M. Granski of Ramsey, N.J., and Edmund W. Granski of Glen Rock, N.J. The bride’s father is a lawyer in private practice in Glen Rock. Her mother is the assistant market center administrator at Keller Williams Village Square Realty in Ridgewood, N.J.

Mr. Sommer, 29, is a vice president focusing on New York State legislative and regulatory matters at Tusk Strategies and Tusk Ventures, public affairs firms in New York. Until 2018, he was a senior policy adviser in the re-election campaign of Senator Robert Menendez, Democrat of New Jersey. Mr. Sommer graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and received a law degree cum laude from Fordham.

He is a son of Marjorie A. Sommer and Robert G. Sommer of Ridgewood, N.J. The groom’s mother is a social worker at Alternatives to Domestic Violence in Hackensack, N.J. She also runs a private therapy practice in Ramsey, N.J. His father is the owner of Awsom Associates, a public affairs firm in Ridgewood. He is on the board of WBGO, the public radio station in Newark.

Ms. Granski and Mr. Sommer met in 2008 in high school, when she stopped by the locker next to his to meet a friend for track practice at Ridgewood High School in Ridgewood, N.J.

Roma Bhatia, Immo Lehmann

Roma Bhatia and Helge Immo Lehmann were married June 8 at the Plummer House in Rochester, Minn. Ronur Murali Bhattar, a Hindu priest, officiated.

The bride, 28, and groom, 33, are third-year resident physicians in internal medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.

In July, the bride will begin a general medicine fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital-Harvard Medical School, from which she will also receive a master’s degree in public health from Harvard. She graduated from Emory University and received a medical degree from the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine in Rochester.

She is the daughter of Gori NMI Bhatia and Naresh G. Bhatia of Farmington Hills, Mich. The bride’s father is a senior accountant for Wayne State University in Detroit. Her mother retired as accountant in New Delhi.

The groom, who is known as Immo, received a medical degree from Otto-von-Guericke University in Magdeburg, Germany. In July, he is to begin a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.

He is a son of Christine Lehmann of Braunschweig, Germany, and the late Michael O. Linke. The groom’s mother is a retired associate professor of theology at the Leibniz University of Hanover, Germany. His father retired as an associate principal and a founder of Integrierte Gesamtschule Braunschweig, a school for students from fifth grade through high school. He also taught a course that provided various teaching methods to students at Leibniz University who majored in education, helping them become more effective teachers upon graduation.

The couple met through friends in Rochester in September 2012.
