WITH the cold and wet weather, people may start struggling with issues of damp inside the home.
But if you're looking for a cheap and affordable way to get rid of the problem for good, then you may just want to pop to Poundstretcher.
That's because a savvy shopper, known on social media as the Duchess of Thrift, has revealed how she keeps damp out of her house – and it won't break the bank.
In the clip posted to TikTok (@duchessofthrift), she begins: "One of my favourite things to use are these hanging dehumidifiers.
"I know you can get these in their little boxes that you can stand on windowsills, but with these ones, you can hang them in a window.
"They're dead cheap – they're like 99p in Poundstretcher."

"It's absolutely brilliant."
Next up, she praises the Argos 'challenger' dehumidifier that she bought last year, which she says costs 13p to run.
Opening it up to show the inside, she says: "That is one day's worth of water out of the house.
"What I tend to do with the humidifier is when someone's had a bath or shower, I'll put that on.
"All of that condensation…and when you've had a bath, it's all steamy in the bathroom, well, that's just settling in my house.
"So I tend to use it mostly after a bath or shower."
She continues: "It's on the landing and I put the towels over the banister to dry, and the dehumidifier dries those out really,
really quickly so we can reuse the towels."
Finally, the money-saving whizz notes that she also leaves the back door open – even when it's freezing cold.
"I'm sat on a heated blanket, I air out the house by keeping the back door open during the day…
"So yeah, that's how I air the house out and make sure I don't get damper mould without my heating on."
It wasn't long before the post went viral, racking up thousands of views and comments.
"This is a good tip – I have a couple of B&Q moisture traps with refills and they work well on the windowsills," wrote one.
A second praised: "Great tips thank you for sharing."
A third noted: "I put them in my little cupboards in bedroom and hang them on the curtain pole between the curtains so you cant see them."
