Remember Janice, Gunther and Tag? Here’s what the Friends supporting cast look like now
SINCE finding fame on Friends, the main six actors in the sitcom have all stayed in the public eye to one degree or another.
And even though it was Rachel, Monica, Phoebe, Ross, Chandler and Joey that appeared in every episode, the hit show had a huge supporting cast.
From Central Perk boss Gunther, to annoying Janice and Ben's mum Carol, Friends was full of actors making cameos.
And as the show celebrates it's 15th birthday, we look at where they are today.
While some who had supporting roles in the show have gone on to Hollywood fame, others have retreated from the limelight.
Here's our round-up of what some of the most memorable characters look like now.
Gunther
The character who appeared in the most episodes after the six main actors was Gunther, the often grumpy manager of coffee house Central Perk.
Played by James Michael Tyler, Gunther hid a secret crush on Rachel and was always on hand to pour the coffee.
Since Friends ended, the 55-year-old has travelled the world making appearances and opening replica Central Perks.
He also won roles on other sitcoms such as Scrubs and Anger Management – and even teamed up with Matt Le Blanc in 2012 for his show Episodes.
Janice
Famous for her catchphrase "Oh. My. God.", Janice, played by Maggie Wheeler, was the annoying ex-girlfriend of Chandler.
After Friends left screens, Maggie, 55, stayed in TV and made appearances in shows such as ER and How I Met Your Mother.
She has been married to husband Daniel for 27 years, and the pair have two children together.
Tag
Before Ross got together with Rachel in the final episode, she hired young, inexperienced Tag as her personal assistant.
Tag, played by Eddie Cahill, then dated Rachel but she decided to end the relationship due to the age difference.
After appearing in the show, Eddie, 39, went on to star in shows such as CSI:NY, Law and Order and even Dawson's Creek.
He married former model and make-up artist Nikki Uberti in 2009 and the pair later welcomed a son.
Carol
She was the lesbian ex-wife of Ross and mum to his cute young son Ben.
And Carol, played by Jane Sibbett, also appeared in almost every season of the show alongside her wife Susan.
After Friends ended, the mum-of-three stepped away from being in front of the camera in favour of becoming a theatre director.
Jane, 54 – who's been married to screenwriter husband Karl Fink since 1992 – also works for a charity in Los Angeles supporting veterans and the homeless.
Frank Buffay Junior
The third season of Friends saw Phoebe's half-brother Frank Buffay Junior introduced to the show.
Played by Giovanni Ribisi, 42, Frank was in love with his teacher Alice and became a dad to triplets that Phoebe acted as a surrogate for.
Since Friends, Giovanni's career has gone from strength to strength – after appearing in movies such as Selma, Avatar, Saving Private Ryan Ted and Gangster Squad.
Between 2012 and 2015, he was married to the British model Agyness Deyn and is said to be an active Scientologist.
