PRINCE ANDREW's public return is a 'disaster waiting to happen' following his ban from Garter Day, according to a royal expert.
Prince Andrew was also left ”crushed” by his Garter Day ban as The Queen kept the Duke out of the public eye.
Finding Freedom author Omid Scobie said in his Yahoo News column, that the Duke of York was “crushed… (and) a little confused.”
It was a last minute call to stop Andrew attending and the Queen was willing to listen to the opinions of Charles and William who ruled out his presence, said a Telegraph source.
Mr Scobie said: “Every chance Prince Andrew is given to try and rehabilitate his image is a step closer to further damage and shame for the institution of the monarchy. It’s a disaster waiting to happen.”

REMEMBER Kate Middleton’s Uncle Gary and his “Maison de Bang Bang” cocaine scandal?
He’s behaving himself these days but perhaps the unedifying experience means his niece is now well placed to advise her husband on his own naughty uncle issues?
It’s been reported that Prince William was very much instrumental in getting “Uncle Andrew” erased from the public elements of the Order of the Garter event at Windsor Castle yesterday, though, awkwardly, his name was still listed in the programme.
So, instead of using the occasion to re-enter the public life he reportedly craves, Andrew has become a modern-day version of Prince John — the youngest son of King George V whose epilepsy and possible autism saw him largely confined to a hidden life on the Sandringham estate before his death from a severe seizure at the age of 14.
Andrew’s “condition” is one of poor judgment rather than poor health, but the similarity lies in a hidden life — in his case, a rather ghostly looking figure seen driving around the Windsor estate where he continues to enjoy the palatial surroundings of his home, Royal Lodge.
His centre-stage appearance at his father Prince Philip’s memorial can perhaps be explained away as a concerned son escorting his grieving mother to her seat. Fair enough.

Royal nickname
THE QUEEN has had all sorts of nicknames given to her during her reign, from fellow family members to those close to the monarch.
These days, the Queen's grandsons in particular have lots of different names for her according to reports.
However, "Cabbage" is one she will no longer hear as it was the name Prince Philip had for her before his death.
The name "Cabbage" was confirmed in 2006. The Sunday Times reported Prince Philip's nickname was confirmed by Robert Lacey, the monarch's biographer, who said: "Yes, I've heard that is how he will sometimes refer to her."
The name also emerged after the release of The Queen film.
In the flick there's a scene where Philip, played by James Cromwell, is getting into bed with the Queen, portrayed by Dame Helen Mirren.
As he shuffles in, Philip tells his wife: “Move over, cabbage" – and according to Peter Morgan, the film's screenwriter, this vegetable-inspired pet name didn't come from nowhere.
He said: “I inquired in royal circles and was told on very good authority that that is what the duke sometimes calls the Queen.”
According to reports this nickname may have come about from the French term "mon petit chou", meaning "my darling."
In English, the term translates literally as "my little cabbage."

Monarch to return to Royal Ascot this week
IT IS EXPECTED that The Queen will delight fans by appearing at Royal Ascot this week – despite her ongoing health battle.
Sources close to The Monarch have claimed that she is expected to watch some of the races in person at Royal Ascot, as she is keen to watch some of her runners hitting the racecourse.
The monarch has 10 entries at the meeting, including Kings Lynn and Reach for the Moon.
Royal fans are hoping that The Queen will make an appearance at the royal horse show.
One fan on Twitter wrote: "I'm so happy she absolutely loves the Royal Ascot.
"My bet for the colour of her outfit is red."
And another said: "Hope she’s feeling well enough. It really is amazing how well she’s done up until age 96!!"
If she is feeling well enough for an appearance, it will be the first time since June 5 the monarch may make a public appearance outside of palace walls.

Royal brothers will need to "take a lot of time" to heal their feud
A royal expert has claimed Prince William and Prince Harry will need to "take a lot of time" to heal their feud as there's been "a lot of damage done".
Speaking on the latest Mail Plus' Palace Confidential, royal correspondent Victoria Murphy spoke of the brothers' relationship and their ongoing rift.
Host Jo Elvin asked Ms Murphy if there is "any hope of a reunion between these warring brothers".
"There is a lot of damage done, I think, over the last couple of years, two to three years, and I think that's going to take a lot of time".

Kate & William send 'direct message' to Meg & Harry
A royal expert has claimed that Kate Middleton and Prince William's move to Windsor has sent a "direct message" to Meghan Markle and Prince Harry.
The move, claims royal expert Neil Sean, is a response to Prince Harry's comments about the Queen.
Speaking on his YouTube channel, Mr Sean said: "The final decision for Prince William and Kate to make that tricky move out from Kensington Palace into Windsor Castle was sweetened up by the media.
"But more importantly the message is basically Harry and Meghan wanted to make sure that the Queen had the right people around her so William and Kate moving directly into Windsor Castle was a direct message to say, 'we are the right people'.

Kate & William pay tribute to Grenfell victims
Yesterday, Kate Middleton and Prince William paid a heartfelt tribute to the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended the memorial service to mark the fifth anniversary.
They were seen chatting with attendees of the multi-faith service, organised by Grenfell United.
The royal couple then placed a bouquet of flowers at the foot of Grenfell Tower.

Kate and Wills attended the memorial service to remember the victims who sadly died in the tragedy.
They met the survivors and bereaved children who were left without parents as a result of the deaths.
During the service, actor Tim Downie said: “At today’s service we honour the 72 innocent men, women and children, mothers, fathers, sons, and daughters, sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and friends who needlessly lost their lives.
“We must never forget them and carry them with us forever in our hearts.”
Former prime minister Theresa May, Mayor of London Sadiq Khan and Housing Secretary Michael Gove were also in attendance.

The British-Norwegian flat jockey won Tuesday's St James’s Place Stakes on Coroebus, and was pictured receiving an award from the Royals.
Last week, the jockey needed medical treatment when a horse whacked him in the face before a race at the Cazoo Handicap Stakes.
He was hit in the face and was left stunned, as his horse ran off without him.

Princess Beatrice leads glamorous fans flocking to Royal Ascot yesterday
FANS dressed to the nines descended on Royal Ascot in their thousands to celebrate day one of the meet.
After three years of reduced capacity at the iconic racecourse due to the Covid pandemic, 2022 welcomed back a full house.
The weather was perfect as fans arrived at Royal Ascot nice and early, with the gates open at 10.30am.
Last year saw just 49,000 fans enjoy the famous event – but 2022 will see over 270,000 guests swarm on the racecourse across the thrilling five days of action.
Billionaires, celebrities and royalty from around the world will attend, with sources saying a number of senior members of our Royal Family are expected.
Prince Charles will be on show on day one alongside the Duchess of Cornwall, with the Queen even believed to be making an appearance this week despite battling mobility issues.
Princess Beatrice was the first Royal spotted at the Berkshire course wearing a stylish, floral maxi dress.
And more of the Royal Family are expected to be on show later.

Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice could take more senior roles
It is thought that the two sisters of York, will take roles similar to Zara and Mike Tindall.
Both sisters, the daughters of Prince Andrew, are tipped to take a step up in Royal duties.
While they were not involved with the Senior Royals on the balcony of Buckingham Palace during the Jubilee, they were spotted making the most of the celebrations.
Professor Otnes told the Express: “Those two young women and their husbands seem to almost be on par now with Zara and Mike Tindall.”
The Royal Branding expert continued: “They’re not William and Kate, but they’re regarded as contributors.”

PM in row with Prince Charles over Rwanda
Boris Johnson has backpedalled in a row with Prince Charles over the Rwanda migrant scheme. The Prime Minister has now said he has “nothing but respect and admiration” for the Prince of Wales.
The scheme will see asylum seekers deported to Rwanda for processing – and has been reportedly slammed as ‘appalling’ by the future king.
Earlier this week, when Mr Johnson was asked whether he thinks the Prince of Wales was “wrong” to make the comments, he responded: “What I don’t think we should support is continued activity by criminal gangs.”
Mr Johnson added: I do think that it’s the job of Government to stop people breaking the law and to support people who are doing the right thing; that’s what we are doing.”

Princess Anne’s son rides with Prince Charles and Camilla to Royal Ascot
Peter Philips sat with his uncle, who rode in the first carriage into Royal Ascot yesterday.
He is the Queen’s eldest grandchild, and looked very smart as he wore a dark grey suit and a top hat.
His mother, Princess Anne was not too far behind as she travelled in the third carriage.
Peter has recently gone public with his new girlfriend, Lindsay Wallace.

The weather couldn’t have been more perfect for those attending the races yesterday as the Royals appear in horse drawn carriages.
Royal Ascot is in full swing with the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall leading the Royal procession at around 2pm yesterday.
The year’s most fabulous racing event kicked off earlier today and will run for five days till Saturday.
Brits have flocked to watch the races, there will be seven each day, and they start at around 2:30pm.

The truth behind Harry & William’s distance at Jubilee celebrations
Prior to Prince Harry’s return to the UK, reports had suggested that him and his brother had worked through many of their disagreements as they set about mending relations.
However, throughout the Jubilee celebrations, neither Harry or William were seen together for more than a moment.
Royal biographer Angela Levin has explained why this might be the case.
Angela says: “The barriers to a reconciliation between Prince William and his brother are a lack of trust in Harry and his unwillingness to fit into William’s increasingly full diary of royal work,” adding: “The Royal Family are also waiting for the publication of Harry’s memoirs before deciding whether to improve relations with him.”
She continued: “What is the point of repairing the damage if Harry is going to tear it all apart again with more attacks on William and Charles?”
Ms Levin also said: “I think Harry and Meghan expected a very warm welcome and that everyone would drop everything for them.
“In reality the Royals were rushed off their feet during the four day Platinum Jubilee.”
She finished: “I am sure if all the children had got together for Lilibet’s birthday, that would have broken the ice.
“But this estrangement won’t end until Harry apologises for saying that William is trapped.”

William looked ‘miserable’ after row with Palace over image
It has been claimed that Prince William looked “miserable” during the Order of the Garter ceremony on Monday following an argument with the Palace.
Body language expert Judi James told the Mirror: “William cut a dour and rather miserable-looking figure at the Garter procession, with his body language suggesting he was almost determined to sustain an unsmiling expression despite the fact that Princess Anne and Charles and Camilla were all smiles and acknowledgement to the crowds.”

Five years on from the horrific accident that claimed 72 lives in London, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge attended a memorial.
Kate and William carried a wreath to pay their respects to those who lost their lives five years ago.

Sarah Ferguson stands by 'kind' ex-husband Prince Andrew
Fergie praised the father of her daughters Princesses Eugenie and Beatrice.
