Princess Beatrice is ‘more experimental’ with style but ‘rarely wears trousers’
Princess Beatrice, 34, and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi, 39, tied the knot exactly three years ago on July 17, 2020, in the Royal Chapel of All Saints on the grounds of Royal Lodge, her parents’ home.
She wore a Norman Hartnell dress that belonged to her late grandmother Queen Elizabeth II to marry Edoardo and looked sublime.
However, Princess Beatrice’s style was not always universally appreciated by royal fans.
For instance, in 2011, the Princess attended the wedding of William and Kate wearing a hat designed by Philip Treacy, which many ridiculed, calling it a “toilet hat”.
Along with her younger sister Princess Eugenie, their styles were always scrutinised, especially in comparison to Princess Kate.

Personal stylist Bella Hignett spoke exclusively to Express.co.uk to explain how Beatrice’s taste in fashion evolved over the years.
She said: “I think Beatrice’s style has evolved over the years and that has been reflected in her sartorial choices.
“She is prepared to make a bit of a statement now where she can, especially when it comes to millinery, and be more experimental than other members of the Royal Family.”
The expert explained whether the Princess of York is “more confident” now that she is a mother of one.

Ms Hignett explained: “Princess Beatrice seems so much more confident now in the way she holds herself and experiments much more with different styles.
“She always favoured the fit and flare dresses which were often similar to outfits her mother would wear.”
Ms Hignett claimed that Princess Beatrice is “rarely” seen wearing a particular item of clothing.
“In addition, the Princess is rarely seen in trousers. When out on royal duty she always toes the line with royal protocol,” Ms Hignett opined.
“But a few years ago her style changed – she started wearing more fitted longer more elegant dresses from brands such The Vampire’s Wife, Reformation, Alice + Olivia, Self Portrait and even a Reiss satin slip skirt.”
The personal stylist gave her opinion on which brand of clothing “looks fabulous” on the 34-year-old.
Ms Hignett suggested: “Beatrice always looks fabulous in Beulah London dresses. I loved the Sophie Webster clutch she had at the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee which had ‘Wife for Lifey’ on it.
“She is very keen to inject a bit of fun into her dressing where she can.”
