Mrs Hinch reveals her genius trick for washing filthy beauty blenders and all you need is a sock and a hairband

Since Mrs Hinch catapulted to Instagram fame in 2018, the cleaning influencer has totally transformed how we tidy our homes and – dare we say it – even made cleaning FUN.

Up until now, we'd only ever looked to the star when we needed to know which product to clean our oven with or how to get our kitchen sinks sparkling.

That said, Mrs Hinch has now revealed the quick and simple way she gets her beauty blenders squeaky-clean and foundation-free – and all you need is a sock and a hairband.

Earlier this week, the star asked her 3.1 million followers how they clean their make-up sponges.

After being inundated with replies, the star wrote on her Instagram stories: "One of the most popular answers was – pop the beauty blenders into an old sock, tie with a hairband and chuck into the washing machine. So I'm going to give a go!"

The cleaning-mad influencer popped four of her filthy beauty blenders in an old grey sock, tied it up at the top with a black hairband and chucked it in with a dark wash.

Later that day, she cheekily joked: "The wash load has finished guys! Never been so excited to get some balls out in my life!!"

Chucking them out one-by-one, the star was delighted by how well it got every inch of make-up off the sponges – although it was a bit of a struggle to get them out of the sock.

Admiring her good-as-new make-up sponge collection, Sophie gushed: "I love them!!"

That said, the washing machine trick didn't get the eyelash glue off one of her pink beauty blenders – but the star then joked: "That's not coming off for no one."

The star then shared impressive before-and-after photos of her beauty sponges.

And based on the impressive results, we can't wait to try it out for ourselves… and we're sure our bathroom towels will thank us too.

What's more, Sophie also revealed that she cleans all her make-up brushes using her beloved Scrub Daddy sponge.

Placing her enormous Scrub Daddt in her bathroom sink, Sophie then keeps the hot water running and glides her brushes over the soapy scouring sponge.

After washing them down, Sophie then placed each of her brushes in her flat £4 make-up bag which was on her bathroom window sill to dry.

And after seeing Mrs Hinch's sparkling clean make-up tools, there will be no guesses as to how we're spending our evening…

For more Mrs Hinch hacks, this woman got her stained lino floor sparkling new using the star's favourite £1 cleaning product.

And this Mrs Hinch fan raved about this 2p coin hack after it removed caked-on limescale from her taps.

Plus Mrs Hinch has revealed how to clean a washing machine with 55p vinegar and a cheap sponge – and even hers is filthy.
