Meghan Markle’s influence has ‘dropped dramatically’ behind Kate’s after Megxit

Meghan Markle and Kate Middleton are both style icons. Many fashionistas look to both the Duchesses for inspiration, but now it appears Meghan’s influence in the style stakes has fallen far behind that of Kate’s.

Meghan has lost her edge to Kate when it comes to fashion.

Though both women are undeniably well dressed, the British public appears to have spoken when it comes to where they are spending their money.

The LovetheSales.com’s data team have analysed every outfit publicly worn by the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cambridge in 2020. They also analysed the Google search queries and the search queries, page views and sales metrics of 4 million British shoppers.

Meghan Markle’s style influence has dropped from a whopping 216 percent from 2017 to 2019, to 31 percent in 2020.

The Duchess of Sussex has lost her huge influence and it has dwindled considerably.

On the other hand, Kate has held on to her considerable influence, and has even increased it in 2020, from 119 percent to 159 percent.

Britons may be less inclined to dress like Meghan after her plans to leave the UK with Prince Harry were revealed.

The fashion experts claimed “from 2017 to 2019, ‘The Meghan Effect’ had officially outshone ‘The Kate Effect’.”

However: “Since the announcement of her move to Canada, Meghan’s outfits haven’t hit the heights of previous years.

“In particular, the Duchess’ signature gowns and dresses haven’t had the same impact on shoppers, compared to the last two years.”

During Meghan’s recent Royal Albert Hall visit on Saturday she wore a dress by Safiyaa, the same brand she wore for an event in Fiji in 2018.

However, the 2018 event saw searches going up for “Safiyaa gowns” by 223 percent while Saturday’s look saw an uptick of just 38 percent.

Kate wore a Massimo Dutti on 22 January, and the same day Meghan also wore a Massimo Dutti coat in Instagram pictures.

But, Britons searched for Kate’s coat eight times more than the Duchess of Sussex’s.

Kate Middleton works with a stylist, Natasha Archer, who as been awarded a Royal Victorian Order for her contributions to the Royal Family.

She has also worked with former fashion editor Virginia Chadwyck-Healy on her looks in the past.

Meghan Markle, on the other hand, does not have a stylist, sources have told Elle.

They added that she does her own make-up too, stating: “I was with her last month, and she was going on a public engagement. Harry and I were sitting with the dogs, and we were all chatty, and she’s painting her nails.

“Except for her wedding, she does all her own makeup. Dresses herself, styles herself.”

Analysis revealed Kate Middleton’s wardrobe costs a huge sum of money, £50,000 per day more than Meghan’s. 

HushHush.com analysed outfits consisting of garments, shoes and accessories, worn by each woman, to calculate an average cost per look.

Both their wedding dresses were taken into account in the analysis, along with a mixture of gowns and casual attire.

Meghan Markle’s wedding dress is said to have cost over £100,000 more than Kate Middleton’s.
