Meghan Markle-inspired Marks and Spencer maxi skirt, £40, sells out in less than 24 hours as shoppers beg for it to be restocked

A PRINTED maxi skirt from M&S has sold out in record time this week after shoppers flocked to the site to snap up the Duchess-inspired design.

Bearing a striking resemblance to a dress worn by Meghan Markle earlier this year, the rope-print skirt has flown off the e-shelves in 19 out of 20 sizes, leaving fans begging M&S to restock.

Posting on Instagram two days ago, Marks and Spencer shared an image of the highly-anticipated new style.

"The skirt we have all been waiting for has finally arrived," the high-street giant wrote.

And they weren't wrong, after the button-up, lined style disappeared in a matter of hours.

The skirt was available in both regular and long sizes 6-24 and has now sold out in 19 out of 20 sizes.

Just hours after the skirt dropped online, shoppers were shocked to find it had already sold out.

Many have commented on the similarities between the skirt and a Victoria Beckham dress worn by the Duchess of Sussex while attending the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey in March.

With Meghan's wardrobe choices often selling out immediately, it's no surprise that the skirt has proven popular.

One shopper wrote: "[This] looks like one of Meghan’s maternity dress prints."

Another disappointed fan said: "Sold out as standard."

With shoppers gutted over lack of availability, many were begging to know if it would be back in stock.

"When will this be back in stock?" Asked one, while another said: "OOS already!! Will it be restocked?"

While M&S haven't yet revealed whether they plan on restocking the skirt, it's worth checking for in-store availability too.

However, as the style is brand new, it might not have even arrived in stores yet – so keep your eyes peeled over the next couple of weeks.
