I'm an organised mum – my clever tip for storing Lego means that you'll never lose a piece again | The Sun

AS YOU read this, you might be surrounded by kids' toys, wondering how on earth your home turned into a play den.

If you're sick of sitting on the sofa only to find a toy truck left under the cushion, then these savvy hacks will turn your home back into the haven it was before your kids decided to overtake it with their toys.

Olivia Nash, a mum-of-one from Bedfordshire has always been organised.

But the working mum really upped the ante when she had her son, Arlo, as she wanted to make sure his toys were stored away instead of lying around the house.

Speaking to Fabulous, she says: "I’ve always been an organised person, even before having kids.

“When I had a child I realised I could create all these hacks for my child, and in particular I needed ideas on toy storage because you don’t realise how many toys you’ll accumulate until you're a mum."

Olivia knows all too well how hectic it can be to keep the house organised with a child, especially if you're working.

But she revealed her top five organisation hacks to keep her sane, and it'll mean you'll never tread on a piece of Lego again.

Lego

If you're fed up with toddler tantrums from losing a piece of their Lego set then this is the hack for you says Olivia.

These handy bags will store all of your Lego and are easily unfolded so they have a play area to build on and can be purchased for £16.99 on Amazon.

"You pull it all out and then pull the strings so it turns into a little bag – you can get them in different sizes.

"The travel sizes are so perfect for Lego on the go and it means you won’t lose any pieces," the savvy mum adds.

Teddies

The mum's hack to store stuffed teddies is perfect as it has a duo function.

Olivia took a bean bag and removed the stuffing inside, as she demonstrated on her Instagram account @athomewithliv.

She then refilled the bean bag with all of Arlo's soft toys and teddies so that they weren't overtaking his bedroom.

The organisation pro explains: "The bean bag hack went down well because if you have a bean bag, it can be done there and then and it’s totally free."

Jigsaws

There's nothing worse than walking into your kid's room only to find they've emptied every single puzzle box onto the floor.

Of course, you are then stuck with the privilege of sorting the pieces out and putting them back in order.

But Olivia has another nifty storage solution to make sure that doesn't happen.

She used some photo storage boxes from Amazon for £18.95, which are kid-proof to being opened.

The mum puts each puzzle in a box with the lid of the puzzle box and seals it shut.

Olivia adds: "The jigsaw box also holds flash cards as well. The box is quite hard to open so he can’t get it out and chuck them everywhere."

Books

Teaching your kid to read is obviously important, so it's only right you end up with hundreds of books lying about.

And the organisation whizz has another simple way to make it look more organised on a budget.

Olivia, who also shares hacks on her YouTube account, used plate holders from Ikea for just £3 to store Arlo's books and it'll mean it's easy to look through them all without pulling loads off the shelves.

School Art

We all want to keep our kids art, no matter how bad it might look.

But it can become impossible to keep a hold of it all when they're bringing back dozens from nursery every day.

That's where Olivia's easy storage solution comes in.
