I’m an estate agent – there are 7 things you should NEVER put in your home… they get so gross and break all the time | The Sun

A MAN well-versed in the world of interior design has issued a warning to those decorating their homes.

Taking to his social media account, Larry said he would be listing out the worst things to put in your home that he would avoid.

First, he said, people should avoid using marble in any area of their homes as it’s porous and expensive.

“I know everybody thinks it looks great but if you spill anything on these, if you have kids, if you have animals, this is a nightmare,” he shared.

Larry then made a similar comment on bullnose tiles, which he said is the “grossest thing out there”.

When it comes to flooring, the real estate agent said you should always avoid shag carpets as it is “so hard to clean”.

“You get dog hair, cat hair, kid’s stuff, grossness,” he told viewers before moving to the side to show another type of carpet that’s flatter.

“If you’re going to put carpet in, this is at least easier to clean, it’s thinner, it’s tighter, it’s not going to pick up that mould and cat and dog and kids and everything else.”

He then hit out at vertical blinds, explaining that they are a “thing of the past” and while they might be practical, they “break constantly”.

Panning the camera over a dual sink in a kitchen, he said some people might disagree with him but he simply doesn’t understand the reasoning behind them.

He even went as far as to call it the “dumbest thing ever”.

Similarly, Larry said he doesn’t like square sinks either as you “will get food stuck in the corners, it will be gross”.

He then showed an array of industrial-style hanging lights, which he called a “pain”.

“You have to get in there and clean the glass, which is really hard to do, especially if it’s hung in a high spot,” he said as the video came to an end.

People were quick to comment as many disagreed with his ruling of the dual sink.

“Wait! Dual sinks is soooo convenient in the kitchen. I love it love it love it! What’s a KITCHEN without double sinks?” one person argued.

Another said: “Dual sinks rule!! Use one for washing and the other for drying!! No more wet counter top!!”

A third said: “Dual sink is for wash and rinse without running water”.

While a fourth shared: “10 years from now, everything he said will be back in style”.
