I'm a landlord and here's how I get my grim oven racks gleaming with zero effort when a tenant leaves

ONE of the downsides of renting a property is that you never get much notice ahead of a house inspection.

So when this mum found out that her landlord was dropping round for a house in the near future, her mind instantly jumped to the state of her filthy oven trays.


As she didn't have much in the way of cleaning products in, the panicked parent thought she'd try soaking them in the bath with some dishwasher tablets.

And to her absolute shock, it got them gleaming in no time.

Sharing impressive before-and-after photos on a Facebook cleaning group, the mum explained how she left the trays in boiling water for a couple of hours.

She then simply chucked in whatever tablets she had in the house.

When she was confident the worst of the grime had softened, the woman then the trays a quick scrub.

She gushed: "Day before an inspection I didn't have either on hand so I thought let's try these dish washer tablets grandma gave me.

"Just with a scourer and light scrubbing almost all of the muck came off except for what was in the hard to scrub edges."

The post racked up hundreds of "likes" and comments in the group and prompted people to share their own tips.

Advising she leave them overnight to soak next time, one replied: "It makes them much easier to scrub."
