Amazon is selling an electric-shock bracelet that claims to put you off fast food in just three weeks – The Sun

AMAZON is selling a bracelet which will give you an electric shock if you eat too much fast food, to try and cure you of bad habits.

Pavlok can deliver a 350-volt shock if you indulge in bad behaviours, such as smoking, pulling your hair, sleeping in and eating junk food.

The bracelet is paired with an app on your phone so you can pick which habit you’re trying to quit, tailoring the shocks you get

The bracelet, which costs £193.62, learns your behaviours, and can shock you whenever you indulge in a bad habit.

If you want to lose weight and cut out junk food, you can track your calorie intake via the app, and if you go over it will shock you.

Your friends and family can also download the app to keep track of you, and if they see you've been eating too much can zap you remotely.

And if they spot you going for a second slice of cake, they can administer a shock on the spot.

If you need extreme discipline, the app can track your hand movements and automatically shock you every time you raise your fork to your mouth.

The device is capable of delivering 150 shocks a day, which they compared to walking across a rug and touching a doorknob, and you can control it remotely to shock yourself if you’re even tempted by a cheeseburger.

The Pavlok says it’s “not just some random wearable that ‘shocks’ you”, but has been “designed with both the latest science and habit change research”.

The makers claim that within three days your cravings will be significantly reduced.

The website says: “Pavlok is a behaviour training device that works by utilizing aversive conditioning.

“Aversive conditioning is essentially behaviour training that uses negative stimuli and association to help reaffirm a specific action as undesirable.

“Pavlok is worn around your wrist and it uses a small electric zap by simply pushing the button on your wristband, or by remote control on the Pavlok smartphone app whenever you find yourself craving or actually doing the behaviour you want to get rid of.

“You’ll have full use of a remote control inside the app, to conveniently control your Pavlok from your phone and to set automated shock options for various habits."
