Wes Nelson shades ex Megan as he says X Factor Celeb won’t damage new romance

Wes Nelson threw some serious shade at his ex Megan Barton-Hanson as he said there's no way X Factor : Celebrity could ruin his relationship with Arabella Chi.

Wes and Megan famously split earlier this year while he was taking part in ITV show Dancing On Ice.

Amid rumours he was getting close to his professional partner Vanessa Bauer, his relationship with Megan became fraught and ended rather dramatically.

He's since moved on with another Love Island star, Arabella, but says he's way too confident in the romance to be worried about the effect X Factor could have.

Wes gushed about his relationship as he talked about teaming up with his co-stars Eyal Booker, Samira Mighty and Zara McDermott for the celebrity version of the ITV talent show.

When asked if he was worried about being hit by a "curse" again, Wes told heat magazine: "I have absolutely no doubts about my relationship. We get on so well – it’s a very different dynamic to what I’ve had before.

"She’s just so chilled. It’s really nice to be going into this knowing it’s going to be absolutely dandy. Unlike last year, it’s worked so much better just taking a chilled-out approach to this and going through the process like we would have done, regardless of the shows we’ve been on."

So far, the group of reality stars have been dubbed The Islanders, but it seems they're not keen on that actually being their band name.

Wes said: "It’s a touchy subject. I’m not saying 'The Islanders' , I’ll look like a f**king idiot."

And Eyal added: "We’re still undecided. The Islanders is our name for now. Do you think you’ll surprise some people?

Wes jumped in: "From the outside looking in, you’d think, 'Are they being serious?' I want to shock people and prove we really are artists."

The pals say they're hoping taking part in the show will make people forget they were ever on Love Island.
