Strictly’s Alex Scott ‘fuming’ after Kevin Clifton ditched for Neil Jones
Alex Scott is reportedly "fuming" she had to perform with Neil Jones again on Strictly Come Dancing after he returned from injury.
The former England Women's football international has been getting rave reviews in recent weeks after partnering with last year's winning professional, Kevin Clifton.
Neil Jones had been helping with choreographing their performances on the BBC dance show, while he recovered from a knee strain.
The Sun reports Alex was less than impressed she had to ditch Kevin now that Neil was back to full fitness.
The 35-year-old ex-Lioness allegedly challenged the show's producers to allow her to continue with Kevin, after she had impressed the judges while dancing with him.
Alexwas apparently "fuming "when her request was turned down and viewers watched Neil return to the dance floor last night.
It comes after Strictly judge Craig Revel Horwood admitted Kevin was better suited to Alex.
A source told The Sun that "Alex was fuming. She made it clear she wanted to continue with Kevin.”
They continued to say that Alex was "really forceful" and made protestations that she "wanted to continue with Kevin. She was so angry".
The outburst allegedly came during Friday's rehearsals as her time on the show had "been pretty chaotic."
The doubts as to who was actually going to partner her at the weekend had left her in limbo and the source said Alex "was unable to devote her energies entirely to either Kevin or Neil".
It has been reported that Neil was "largely helping with choreography while Kevin did most of the leg work and 90 per cent of the training".
Alex has allegedly been caught between being loyal to Neil, who she really likes, and Kevin, who she believes 'brings the best out of her' and with who she has 'better chemistry'.
She was reportedly told by producers on Friday that Neil was fit to continue and she had to learn to perform the dance with him after practising all week with Kevin.
The source said: "Understandably Alex felt incredibly frustrated, and snapped slightly.
"She is very popular behind the scenes but she is a sportswoman and just wants to be given the opportunity to do the very best she can.”
Alex has scored her highest marks while dancing with Kevin, reaching 34 with him last week.
During Saturday's live show, head judge Shirley Ballas said to Neil: “It’s good to see you back and in good health.”
Bruno Tonioli was not so diplomatic, saying to Alex: "It’s good to see you growing in confidence — she’s the leader now. Who you going to dance with next week?”
