Steph Curry Was Only Joking About That Moon Landing Stuff

Steph Curry thinks we’re all dumb for thinking he’s dumb for thinking the moon landing was faked. Steph says he was only joking when he claimed he didn’t believe the moon landing really happened. Speaking to ESPN, Steph set the record straight by stating unequivocally that he believes in scientific evidence. And he wanted to see how far people would take the story before confessing his previous comments were in jest. But he’s still going to take NASA up on the private tour because, who wouldn’t?

According to Steph, the Winging It podcast comments questioning the moon landing were just a blip in a conversation where he and fellow NBA players Vince Carter, Andre Iguodala, and Kent Bazemore were goofing on “all sorts of wild stuff”. Steph said:

We went from Trae Young comparisons to ‘What sound does a dinosaur make?’ [From] ‘What’s your favorite brand of golf club?’ to conspiracy theories. And literally out of an hour-and-10-minute podcast, that five-second comment of me asking, ‘Did we land on the moon?’ was the only thing people got out of that.

He says he was so shocked that people thought he was being serious, that he decided to enact a silent protest.

I was silently protesting how stupid it was that people actually took that quote and made it law as, ‘Oh my God, he’s a fake-moon-landing truther,’ whatever you want to call it, yada, yada, yada. So I was silently protesting that part about it, how the story took a life of its own.

Can he blame us? Steph may be the World’s Smartest Baller, but when you’ve got Dennis Rodmans out here running around wearing tinfoil hats, how are we supposed to know who’s crazy and who’s “kidding”. We don’t know your life, Steph!

Fans of science will be glad to hear that Steph is taking the opportunity to turn this situation into a teachable moment, especially for his young, impressionable fans.

“But in terms of the reaction that I’ve gotten, I am definitely going to take [NASA] up on their offer. I am going to educate myself firsthand on everything that NASA has done and shine a light on their tremendous work over the years. And hopefully people understand that education is power, informing yourself is power. For kids out there that hang on every word that we say, which is important, understand that you should not believe something just because somebody says it. You should do your homework and understand what you actually believe.

Ugh, I don’t know what’s more boring, actual basketball, or rational basketball players. Science, science, bla bla bla. He shouldn’t worry, if he keeps talking about facts and homework and shit, no kid will be trying to hear a word he has to say. And neither will anyone else!
