Red Hot Chili Peppers Announce Show At Egyptian Pyramids

Red Hot Chili Peppers have announced they are planning to perform on the site of the Great Pyramids of Giza in Egypt.

The Grateful Dead, Sting and Yanni will join the legendary funk rock band at the iconic pyramids.

The tickets for the March 15 show will go on sale Friday at TicketsMarche.com.

This will be the first show by the band in Africa after performing a pair of gigs in the South African cities of Johannesburg and Cape Town in 2013.

Speaking about their new album, RHCP drummer Chad Smith said work was affected by the recent California wildfires, suggesting the release will be delayed.

“We started to work on [the new album], which, for us, is just getting in a room and making some noise and putting some notes together. And then the fires came, and the house we were working in – there was no damage, it didn’t burn down, but we couldn’t get back in there. So that halted our [progress],” he told Sirius XM‘s Volume West.
