Rachel Brosnahan Was Just Named the Face of Her Late Aunt Kate Spade's Label
Rachel Brosnahan, whose aunt Kate Spade died by suicide in June, has officially been named the face of Kate’s label Frances Valentine.
The brand released the first campaign shots today, and Rachel told People that working on the project was a “privilege.”

Kate and her husband Andy sold their stake in the Kate Spade brand in 2007 to spend time with their daughter. Ten years later, they founded Frances Valentine. When Kate died last year, she left behind tons of designs for the brand. Rachel wanted to honor her legacy by working with the company.
“When you lose someone you love, you search for boundless ways to keep their memory alive. This felt like a way to do that through her beautiful creations and an opportunity to share them with all of those who her work meant so much to,” she said.

Rachel went on the Today show today with Kate’s best friend and business parter, Elyce Arons, to talk about what the line has meant to them.

“We were so touched hearing in the wake of this unthinkable tragedy that we all experienced together, how many other people had been touched by her personally, by her work, by her designs,” Rachel said. “It was something that really meant a lot to us and still does.”
