Prince & The Revolution ‘Purple Rain’ Tour Concert To Stream For Charity

The Prince estate has teamed up with YouTube to host a three-day event to stream “Prince and the Revolution: Live,” starting Thursday, May 14, at 8 pm ET.

The concert was filmed towards the end of the Purple Rain tour in Syracuse, New York, on March 30, 1985. The performance features members of The Revolution, including drummer Bobby Z, guitarist Wendy Melvoin, keyboardists Lisa Coleman and Matt Fink, and others.

Bobby Z will also partake in a Q&A session an hour before the premiere.

Prince fans have been asked to donate to the fund powered by the UN Foundation and Swiss Philanthropy Foundation to help in COVID-19 pandemic efforts. Google will match viewers’ donations $2 for every $1, up to $5 million.
