Peter Mayhew net worth: How much was the Star Wars Chewbacca actor worth?
Peter Mayhew, who famously portrayed Chewbacca in Star Wars, has passed away at the age of 74.
Harrison Ford, who played Han Solo alongside him, paid tribute to the “kind and gentle man”.
The 7ft 3in star played the sidekick Wookie in the original Star Wars trilogy, episode three of the prequels, and also shared the role in The Force Awakens.
The British actor died at his home in Texas on April 30.
His cause of death was not immediately disclosed, but he had struggled with mobility issues in recent years.
A family statement read: “He fought his way back from being wheelchair-bound to stand tall and portray Chewbacca once more in Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
“He also consulted on The Last Jedi in an attempt to teach his successor.”

Besides Star Wars he has also starred in the movie Terror from 1978 and Yesterday Was A Lie.
His voice was used in the English version of Dragon Ball GT: A Hero’s Legacy.
Peter has also written two books called Growing Up Giant and My Favourite Giant.
The “gentle giant” used his fame to support charitable work, and created the Peter Mayhew Foundation.
Later in life Peter moved to Texas where he owned his own business.
He is survived by his wife Angelique, who he married in 1999, and his three children.
