Meghan Markle’s “Strength” Is from Her Mother, Doria Ragland

Since revealing their decision to step down as senior members of the royal family, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have been spending the majority of their time in Canada.

And when Prince Harry stayed in England to figure out the details of the couple’s royal exit, Meghan had some company on Vancouver Island. According to a source via People, “Meghan had friends and her mom around while Harry remained in England.”

And that’s not all. An alleged friend of the duchess told the publication, “[Meghan] definitely gets a lot of her strength from her mother.” It seems that Doria Ragland is supporting her daughter as the Sussexes’ royal roles change. It’s likely that Meghan’s mom is also keen to spend as much time as possible with her grandson, Archie Mountbatten-Windsor.

Another source reportedly revealed to People, “[Doria] and Meghan are so close… Harry really gets on well with her too. Any new mom wants her own mom around at this time, so it’s great.”

In the queen’s official statement regarding Harry and Meghan’s decision to step down as senior royals, the monarch said, “I want to thank them for all their dedicated work across this country, the Commonwealth and beyond, and am particularly proud of how Meghan has so quickly become one of the family.”
