Meek Mill Drops ‘Trauma’ Video
Meek Mill has dropped the music video for “Trauma”, which appears on his latest album, Championships.
In the video, Mill portrays the traumatic life experiences he has endured in his life. He is shown both as a child and as an adult in the clip, with his own son Papi playing the role of young Meek. He is shown sitting next to a photo of his deceased father as he pens a letter to him. While the present scenes show his memories of his street life with drugs, police raids, prison, and even death.
“How many times you send me to jail to know that I won’t fail?” he raps. “Invisible shackles on the king, ’cause s**t, I’m on bail / I went from selling out arenas, now s**t, I’m on sale / Them cold nights starting to feel like hell.”
The Philly rapper released his new album Championships last month, just seven months after his release from jail. The album featured some big name guests, including Jay-Z, Drake, Cardi B, Future, Young Thug, Ella Mai, Anuel AA, Kodak Black, 21 Savage, Jeremih, PnB Rock, Fabolous and Rick Ross.
The album debuted in the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 chart. The album, his fourth studio effort, earned 229,000 equivalent album units in the week ending December 6, according to Nielsen Music.
The multi-platinum rapper has planned a 16-city U.S. tour in support of the album. “The Motivation Tour” will begin in Miami on February 19.
