Marnie Simpson and Casey Johnson admit adjusting to parenthood has been a ‘shock to the system’ – Exclusive
Marnie Simpson and Casey Johnson welcomed their baby boy Rox Johnson into the world at 4:18pm on October 29, weighing 8lbs 1oz.
Since Rox was born Casey, 24, has described their boy as “the best thing that has happened” to them, but the labour and birth was extremely traumatic for his baby mother.
Marnie, 27, suffered a postpartum haemorrhage, lost two pints of blood and had to spend three nights in hospital before they could return to their Bedfordshire home.

The couple, who have been together since late 2017 after meeting on Single AF, explained to OK! online how adjusting to parenthood has been a “shock to the system.”
“At first, adjusting to parent life was a bit of a shock to the system, because I had such a traumatic labour and birth, it made the first days harder, I wasn’t able to do anything,” explained the Geordie OGs star.
Casey added: “It was a shock, the first night I looked after him because Marnie couldn’t.”
“The first time he was an angel, I think because he was so tired from the birth but they were bad after that,” he continued.
Marnie added: “Since we’ve come home, we’ve adjusted a lot better but we’re still getting used to the sleepless nights.”
The Newcastle-born reality star explained how the whole ordeal was nothing like she had envisioned it would be and said they were really excited for the birth before it went “tragically wrong.”

Marnie said: "It was just such an awful experience. It was nothing like I’d planned in my head, I planned giving birth being an amazing experience, but it was the opposite."
Casey said: "A lot of people when you have the baby say it’s magical but after watching Marnie go through it I don’t think giving birth is magical, but having your baby afterwards is."
The reality TV star added: “We were really excited about the birth but it just went tragically wrong."

“I couldn’t even lift my head up off the pillow, I’d lost that much blood from the haemorrhage, it was impossible for me to look after him the first night,” she continued.
The ex- Geordie Shore star said that the experience of the birth has currently put her off from having more children in future, although admits she’s not completely ruling it out.
Casey said: “Maybe in a couple of years but we’re not rushing into having any more kids straight away.”

Marnie, however, said: “I just honestly can’t see myself having any more children with the brith and experience I had.”
The reality star did admit that she would like a little girl at some point in the future but stated “right now, it’s so fresh in my mind, I don’t think I could”go through with having birth again.
