Lucy Versasamy: ‘Stuck in a rut’ ITV weather star aparks frenzy amid forecast news

ITV weather presenter Lucy Verasamy, 38, took to Twitter to give fans an update about the changing temperatures this week. On Tuesday, the brunette beauty shared a link to her latest forecast with ITV, in which she told fans the UK will be keeping the “dull and damp” conditions before weather improves.

She detailed that despite a few frosty nights, some parts of the UK could expect sunshine.

Lucy shared the post in view of her 162,000 Twitter followers, she wrote: “Stuck in a (weather) rut for now – waiting patiently for sunshine.”

Despite the not so good weather news, many of her social media fans appeared to acknowledge her smart appearance instead.

The star stunned in a white blouse which featured a black bow.

One Twitter user wrote: “Never in a rut when you’re about Lucy,” while another penned: “Your our daily sunshine Lucy.”

A third penned: “As you always do… Look Absolutely Stunningly Gorgeous.”

A fourth commented: “The sunshine is always there when you look so gorgeous announcing the weather.”

According to the Met Office today, temperatures across London and southern areas will predominately stay dry.

However they have also warned that there is an 80 percent probability of severe cold weather between midnight and 9am on Monday, December 2.

Elsewhere, earlier this year, Lucy Verasamy urged her fans not to be “fooled” by weather apps.

In a post on Twitter, she wrote: “There’s a reason weather forecasters/meteorologists don’t use weather apps themselves: far from reliable & often misleading.”

The Good Morning Britain star also warned her fans to not be “fooled” by rain predictions, which are also often seen on apps.

She added: “And same with the [per cent] chance of rain: don’t be fooled – there’s no context.”

Many of her followers reacted to the post, with one querying: “Aren’t weather apps updated by meteorologists and weather forecasters?”

“No. All automated/computer generated data,” she replied.

Another wrote: “The iPhone app is the worst ever. According to mine it’s going to rain for the next 3 years.”

“iPhone app is Apple = American data so configured for the US. Not the UK,” she replied.

Meanwhile, Lucy spoke out about female weather forecasters being a “girl next door” type.

Speaking to Stylist Magazine back in 2013, she said: “Weather presenters are naturally girl next door types who communicate well.

“I think that’s what the audience want, you’re beaming straight into their homes so it’s important to be approachable and friendly.”

At the time of the interview, the televisions tar was a regular forecaster on ITV show Daybreak.
