Lauren Alaina Rocks Cheap Trick’s ‘Surrender’
Country star Lauren Alaina recently flew to the infamous Sound City Studios in Los Angeles, where rock band Cheap Trick recorded their massively popular song, “Surrender.”
Alaina and her band reinvented the song to transform it into a country classic and “kind of stripped it back and got to showcase what the song is and put a little Lauren Alaina on it,” she said.
Wishing to remain authentic, the group even recorded the track in the studio’s bathroom, the very location where it was originally recorded.
“Every room sounds different, and every room can bring something different to the table,” said Alaina. “Sometimes you just gotta sing a vocal in the bathroom.”
