Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper in intensive care fighting deadly coronavirus
Kate Garraway is "sick with worry" as her husband Derek Draper is in intensive care battling the coronavirus.
The 52 year old had to leave her ITV show Good Morning Britain after showing symptoms of the deadly bug too, forcing her into self-quarantine with her children Darcey and William.
Derek, also 52, was admitted to hospital on Monday 30 March, where he tested positive for covid-19 and has since been in intensive care.
A source told The Sun: "This is a desperate situation for Kate who is sick with worry about Derek’s health. He is intensive care battling coronavirus and for obvious reasons she is beside herself.
“Kate has symptoms herself too but they are mild so she is self-isolating at home with the kids. She is obviously off TV too. Everyone at GMB is so worried for her.”
A spokesperson for Kate also confirmed the news as they said: "Kate’s husband Derek Draper has been taken to hospital and is being treated in intensive care with a confirmed case of Covid-19.
"He was admitted on Monday and has since tested positive for the virus. Kate hasn’t been tested however she has also been displaying mild symptoms, also since Monday, and as a result has been on strict isolation with her children at home."
