John Legend & Kelly Clarkson Drop Updated Version Of ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’

John Legend and Kelly Clarkson have dropped an updated version of “Baby It’s Cold Outside.”

Legend collaborated with Natasha Rothwell from HBO’s Insecure to change the lyrics to avoid the controversial sexist lines included in the original.

The opening lyrics in the new update versions goes like this, “I really can’t stay (Baby it’s cold outside)/ I’ve gotta go away (I can call you a ride)/ This evening has been (So glad that you dropped in)/ So very nice (Time spent with you is paradise)/ My mother will start to worry (I’ll call a car and tell ’em to hurry).”

The new version appears on an expanded version of Legend’s Christmas album, A Legendary Christmas: The Deluxe Edition, which dropped on November 8 via Columbia Records.

The album also includes “This Christmas,” “My Favorite Things” and “Christmas in New Orleans.”
