Janet Jackson Among Rock Hall Inductees

Pop superstar Janet Jackson will be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next year.

For the first time, the Hall inducted seven nominees for 2019, instead of the traditional five.

The other inductees are the Cure, Stevie Nicks, Def Leppard, Roxy Music, the Zombies and Radiohead.

The induction ceremony, to be held at the Barclays Center in New York City on March 29, will be broadcast live on SiriusXM radio.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame said votes were tallied from ballots sent to an international voting body of more than 1,000 artists, including current living inductees, historians and members of the music industry.

“Factors such as an artist’s musical influence on other artists, length and depth of career and the body of work, innovation and superiority in style and technique are taken into consideration,” the Rock Hall said in a press release explaining the criteria for selecting the inductees.
