Ruth Langsford, 61, and Eamonn Holmes, 62, have been together since the 1990s. Now, in a new interview, Eamonn has defended his wife over an on-air moment with Phillip Schofield.
Eamonn shared how he felt about a moment Ruth had seemingly been cut short on This Morning.
Back in 2019, Ruth had been in the middle of a trailer for Loose Women when she was cut short.
Before she could finish, Phillip cut in and said: “Guys, we are going to have to stop you. I am afraid because we are a bit tight for time.
“Thank you Ruth and we will catch you guys a little bit later, thank you very much, thank you.”

Looking surprised, Ruth said: “Oh, well I only had about two more words to say so don’t worry.”
Eamonn shared how he felt about the moment in an interview published today in the Daily Mail’s Weekend magazine.
He said: “It’s up to Ruth to say how she felt about it, but I was feeling a little hurt for her.
“No one would have snubbed me like that. I have a good Belfast street fighter in me.

“I wouldn’t be shy of saying, ‘Excuse me, I think you’ll find I was speaking.’
“I would be direct. I don’t go for presenters who think they have a special privilege or aura or influence.”
Express.co.uk has contacted a representative for Phillip Schofield for comment.
In the same interview, Eamonn also shared some insight into his marriage with Ruth.

The presenter admitted it was “love at first sight” for him when he met her.
However, he went on to explain the feeling was not mutual.
The pair first met in 1996 and have been married since 2010.
Elsewhere, Ruth recently took to social media to celebrate her husband’s success.
The Loose Women presenter often shares videos of her watching his GB News breakfast show on her Instagram.
However, on Thursday, Ruth posted about Eamonn’s new “legend” co-star.
He co-hosted the show with Angela Rippon, who is known for her long broadcasting career.
Sharing a snap of the pair, Ruth wrote: “While @isabelwebstertv is away the cat will play…
“@Eamonnholmes has brought a new partner in… the broadcasting legend Angela Rippon!”
