How ‘Shahs of Sunset’ star Mike Shouhed found out his ex-wife Jessica Parido was pregnant

Jessica Parido just revealed she secretly gave birth to a son in February, but her ex-husband, “Shahs of Sunset” star Mike Shouhed, told Page Six he found out she was expecting early on in the pregnancy.

“I got a call from Jessica while she was in her third or fourth month of pregnancy,” Shouhed, 40, told us exclusively, adding that his ex-wife told him through tears, “I have some news for you.”

Since Parido, 30, was in a relationship with another man, Shouhed said he wasn’t surprised the “news” was that she was expecting her first child.

“I had a feeling in my heart and in my gut that she was pregnant,” he said. “I noticed she wasn’t really posting on Instagram, and I just had a feeling.”

Shouhed said Parido was “worried” about how her ex would react, but was “pleasantly surprised” by his positive response.

“Not even one ounce of negativity ran through my emotions or my mind,” the reality star said, adding that he told Parido, “I’m very happy for you. Congratulations, and I’m here for you if you need anything.”

When Parido reached out, Shouhed said the exes had been in communication “off and on” sporadically as friends to “check up on each other.”

The couple separated in August 2015 and finalized their divorce in June 2017, but it wasn’t until 2018 that the exes were able to establish a platonic relationship.

“This news obviously added another element of discussion for us,” Shouhed said, sharing that he and Parido spoke about once a month to share updates on the pregnancy, including when she heard her baby’s heartbeat for the first time.

“I was excited for her because I knew that it was her dream to be a mom, and God really blessed her with the opportunity to do so,” he said.

Parido has not announced the identity of her child’s father, but Shouhed said he approves of his ex’s new man.

“Knowing who she was with made me happy, because there were some guys that she was dating before that that I wasn’t really fond of,” he said.

On Instagram, Parido shared that the “traditional family I’ve dreamed of my entire life is not something I have.”

On February 23, 2019 My little miracle Boy was born. Since I was 15 years old I was told that the high doses of chemotherapy I got to fight my leukemia would cause me to be sterile. It was something I struggled with accepting for years. After 15 years and countless specialists I accepted the fact I would never have children of my own. God had other plans for me. The level of shock and disbelief I had when I found out I was pregnant naturally was unimaginable. I had spent half of my life believing I would never feel these feelings. To say this came without struggle would be a lie. The traditional family I’ve dreamed of my entire life is not something I have. The vision of love, marriage then baby I had wanted is gone. I decided to keep my pregnancy off of social media and enjoy the time without the opinions and comments of others. I contemplated never posting about it and carrying on but IM A MOM, I have a son, a beautiful little miracle who I’ll cherish the rest of my life and to not share this would be not sharing me ❤️

Shouhed said when he and Parido were married the former couple never tried to conceive, but remained “hopeful” despite Parido’s battle with childhood leukemia at a young age, which impacted her fertility.

Because of Parido’s previous health struggles, Shouhed said he was “happy” with the decision Parido made to keep her pregnancy off social media.

“There are a lot of Internet warriors out there that are so mean, and I wanted her not to have any difficulties with her pregnancy because it was so hard for her to get pregnant, and stress on a mother is very detrimental,” he said.

Fortunately, Parido’s pregnancy was successful and she welcomed her son on Feb. 23. But despite giving birth over a month ago, Shouhed said he will not be visiting the baby anytime soon.

“I’m not there yet,” he confessed, adding now is just “not the right time.”

“She’s in another relationship and she has the baby’s dad to deal with, and I don’t want any type of hard feelings toward me for going to see the baby and causing any kind of drama,” Shouhed said.

In the meantime, the reality star has plenty of feuds to keep up with for his Bravo series. When asked about a tweet he shared recently, in which he wrote “jealousy is a disgusting disease,” he said the drama will play out on Season 8 of “Shahs of Sunset.”

“Some of the jealousy is coming from the fact that I started a CBD line,” he said. “My heart and my soul is filled with so much love and compassion, and unfortunately I’m hearing through the grapevine that people are talking s–t about me for no reason. You guys will see. Just watch and see.”
