Holly Willoughby ‘pauses’ £1million Marks and Spencer deal after quitting This Morning

Holly Willoughby has reportedly told Marks and Spencer bosses that she needs to pause her £1 million deal with the high-street retailer as she continues to remain out of the spotlight.

Holly, 42, stepped down from This Morning in October after 14 years of presenting the show, after a man was arrested after plotting to allegedly kidnap and murder the TV presenter.

The TV presenter would usually be front and centre of the M&S Christmas campaign, but has been noticeably absent this year, with sources close to her revealing that she has been left too "traumatised" to consider returning to the public eye at the moment.

A friend of Holly told the Daily Mail: "Holly is still absolutely traumatised and her priority is her family right now.

"She decided to take time away from the limelight for a while and just concentrate on dealing with the situation. It has been very sad for her and everyone around her and she is dealing with it in the best way she can.

"So with that in mind, she just wants time with her family to heal."

The outlet also reports that Holly has paused her long-standing deal with cosmetics company L'Oréal.

OK! have contacted Holly Willoughby's representatives for comment.

A source close to Holly has told OK! the extent of her feelings, making it clear that friends are worried about the star. "Holly’s taken a huge knock,” they said.

"She was the golden girl of ITV, but she’s had a horrible drop. She’s at rock bottom at the minute. She’s really not good, she’s struggling – she feels people are judging her and she’s scared."

Meanwhile, Dancing On Ice bosses are said to be trying to persuade Holly Willoughby to return to the ITV show in January, as it's still yet to be revealed who will be hosting the upcoming series.

Holly, 42, has hosted the show alongside Phillip Schofield, 61, since 2006 – apart from three series where Christine Lampard stood in for her. However, Phillip quit the ITV show earlier this year after stepping down from This Morning in May.

Holly then followed suit and stepped down as host of This Morning in October, but no announcement has been made about her future on Dancing On Ice.

But ITV are said to be keen to persuade Holly to sign up to present the new series alongside Stephen Mulhern, who is rumoured to be taking over Phillip's spot on the ITV show after filling in for him on several occasions.
