H.E.R. Showcases Her Musical Talent On ‘Corden’

H.E.R. appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Tuesday, January 8, and performed the song “Carried Away” from her self-titled album. She also gave an interview to the host James Corden.

When Corden asked about her name, she said, “It stands for Having Everything Revealed. It represented being a young woman and going through heartbreak. I call it the evolution of woman.”

H.E.R. is nominated for five Grammys at this year’s awards, including the prestigious Album Of the Year and Best New Artist.

Although her performance lasted only for four minutes, H.E.R. managed to showcase her vast knowledge of music. She started her performance on an acoustic guitar, which was accompanied by her five-piece band. She then transitioned to a bass guitar before showing her skills on the keyboard.

“Please/I never saw it coming/You wanna take me away/So please/Don’t let it be for nothing before we get carried away,” she sang with her background singers.

Recently, in an interview with Rolling Stone, H.E.R. revealed that she always dreamed about winning a Grammy and considered it as a success marker.

“Absolutely. That’s something that I dreamed about as a kid. Like, I practiced a Grammy speech as a child when I couldn’t sleep. It was definitely something I watched growing up with my family. It’s surreal. It’s a major dream come true,” the singer said.
