Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik have been gifted matching diamond evil eye bracelets after announcing they are expecting their first child together.

The 25 year old supermodel revealed she was pregnant last week, with it being believed her and her 27 year old former One Direction boyfriend will welcome a baby girl in September.

After telling the world about their happy news, it seems the pair are hoping for more positivity as they have been seen sporting the matching jewellery.

The evil eye symbol is believed to guard against misfortune in somebody's life, bringing good luck and protecting from any ill-will that could have a negative effect on your well-being or your life in general.

Their jeweller friend gifted the superstar couple their latest accessories, showing them off on social media.

Goerge Khalife took to Instagram to share a photo of Zayn and Gigi holding hands, with their evil eye bracelets firmly on show, with his 66,700 followers.

He captioned the post: "Good vibes only for this beautiful couple!! @gigihadid @zayn congrats."

The bracelet is also available to buy in white gold and rose gold, but will set you back $280 (£225).

George has spoken out on the items, revealing he sent them after congratulating the happy couple of the phone.

He said: "I don't know how exactly the evil eye came up, but I think I maybe mentioned it and she was like, 'That's so funny, we were just talking about pulling out some evil eyes.'

"We're all Middle Eastern, so in our culture we believe they ward away jealousy and keep haters away. And you know everybody's going to be talking about them — all eyes on them. So I was like, 'Don't worry, I got you.'

"I feel like times like this are just very emotional — there's so much going on.

"I think they need to look at those bracelets as a reminder to not let the negative energy affect them," he continued to tell Page Six.

Gigi confirmed she was expecting her first child last week as she appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.

She said: "Obviously, we wish we could've announced it on our own terms. But we're really excited and grateful for everyone's well wishes."

After Jimmy, 45, called it "a ray of sunshine" amid all the chaos of the coronavirus pandemic, she continued: "It's a nice silver lining to be home and enjoy it and really experience it day by day."
